Most types have a valve to start running clear and after switching to delta the valve must close. if there is not such a valve please check the checkvalve. you can try to start with empty tank. when it is ok then, it indicates a dirty checkvalve.

Why does 15 amp 250 volt fuse in my lg refridgerator keep blowing

the 15 amp fuse is blowing because the current draw to run the compressor exceeds 15 amps
that problem could be from a failed start/ run capacitor or a failed compressor motor (I am betting on the capacitor)
the best answer is to get a fridge technician to check it out as the capacitor is a cheap fix while the compressor unit is as costly as a new fridge

Clarke tiger 8\35 1.5 hp compressor runs for short time then shuts off and will not start

It sounds like the motor has a weak thermal overload if after a while it starts again. Either that or it's drawing high amps in which case you could have one of several different problems.

Hi well if it is blowing fuses and you are using it on a suitable circuit breaker, a FUSE really isn't suitable, unless a special Motor type slow blow fuse, etc esspecially with this much current draw, anyway if this is occurring the device must be short circuiting after it arc's, accordingly i would imagine that one or more of the output semiconductors, is shorting at this time, the only way to fix this will be to replace these semis? & possibly the drive circuit too? It's impossible to actually tell without actually examining the unit as i am sure you must understand?
However DIY in reality isn't really practical, unless you can obtain a service and repair manual, and then you maybe able to isolate and repair the unit, however in my experience the very best thing you can do is take it to a professional and get a "Quote" as top prospective costings and go from there? This way at least you will know what's wrong and how much it will cost, it may even be that replacement is better than repair in any event.

I need to know what size breaker and what size electric cable should be used in the installation of this Ingersoll Rand SS3L3 3hp motor. I've ordered the compressor but it is supposed to take awhile before...

I am assuming that you will be hooking the air compressor to a 240 volt line...
That motor will draw about 18 amps...... so a 20 amp line will be too close to that draw....
so you will be looking at a 30 amp line...
For that you will need to run a 10gauge three wire with ground on a 30 amp two pole breaker...
that will serve you for up to about 100 feet of wire... if you are running the wire farther then that you will need to up size the wire to 8 gauge so that the motor can draw enough to get started...

My clarke compressor keeps blowing the fuse in the plug on start up. any ideas!!!! i`ve changed the lead and plug

if the compresor is tight it would blow fuses, or the starter capasitor is leaking,,, (below power)
but its more likley you are using the compresor on a long extension lead and the power drop in that lead is causing the problem,,,if this is so,, use a much thicker extension lead...2hp motor = 2600 wats? at start up,

After some excellent advice most of my problems with my airmaster 15/50 3hp compressor have been solved, but I still have one problem, the tank fills up to 150psi and swithes off, when I use the air and it...

The piston in the motor has a larger "problem" bucking up against the 100 PSI of backpressure already in the tank. Thus, the larger amperage required to start the compressor motor when air is in the tank. Does the compressor motor have a starter capacitor? Perhaps the capacitor has failed...
