Sony KV-27HFR TV, no picture no sound; but got HV

The high voltage transformer may be the problem, because it feeds back secondary voltages to different parts of the set, for example is the vertical deflection voltage present at the ic, if memory serves me there should be around 26volts, if it's missing it means the fuse is open or the flyback pin is not generating the voltage.

I have a 1999 32" Sony KV-32S45. Picture comes

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Sony TV. The problem you are describing is a pretty common one being the slow collapse of the vertical circuit. This tv is know for having bad solder connections and the picture tube developing an internal short. Luckily for you it is a problem with cold solder joints, and when you straightened up the components, you temporarily made a good connection. You need to get someone to re-solder any and all bad /cold solder joints especially around the vertical circuit area making sure no solder bridges are formed during the process. Make the tv is unplugged before starting to do the repairs!
Good Luck! Rich L.

Sony KV-27S26 27 with sound but no picture

yes, its dry solder joint problem in Vertical Deflection Area. If you know how to repair TV, then open it and resold vertical output IC pins and surrounding parts with solder iron and solder wire.

What`s seems to be the porblem

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE VERTICAL I.C. NEEDS SOLDERING. WHEN IT LOOSES THE PICTURE DOES IT HAVE ERROR CODE 2 ? THE RED LED BLINKING 2 THEN 2 THEN 2. THAT IS LOSS OF VERTICAL. IF YOU SMACK THE SIDE OF THE SET.(NOT TO HARD) WITH OPEN PALM ON LOWER BACK IF THE PICTURE COMES BACK IT IS THE VERTICAL IC THAT NEEDS TO BEE SOLDERED.

Sony CRT Tv (KV-T29SZ8)

When you see white lines at the top of the screen, it means that the pump-up capacitor next to the vertical output IC is bad and the IC is about to quit. When the output finally quits, you get a black screen with possible dim spots. The vertical output IC and its pump-up cap will have to be replaced, and the little fuse resistors next to the flyback in the + and - supplies to the vertical output IC must be checked too. If you have experience working on TV's then you can do it yourself, but if not then have the set serviced by a tech experienced in Sony sets.

Sony KV-35S42 35" TV

Check first for bad solder on the vertical IC, Im not sure for your set as I do not have the service manual, but it may be location IC301. If after resoldering it does not fix it you may have to replace it and you should replace the electrolytic capacitors in the vertical section. Hope this helps. Don

do you see anything on screen.no picture doesnt mean no raster ,raster mean anything that comes out in display.no raster with sound only mean failure in either, connection in heater which means, loose connection or some new sets declare failure in vertical circuit.so be more specific ok?

Sony trinitron 32 in. pip no video, (raster, with audio)

What you have described there is a classic example of the jungle IC failure. Ic301 Sony p/n 8-752-101-04. A pic with no color, and lines or grainy texture in the picture. Not a project you want to tackle if you don't have the proper soldering equipment or skills. And not a costly one at a good repair shop.. Only real hurdle is getting that heavy monster into the shop. To answer your question, yes what you described there is raster. Even the salt & pepper looking screen with no real decernable image is described as raster. In fact any image generated on the CRT is raster. And yes, these sets are prone to solder joint problems, usually ring cracking in circuits that generate the most heat.
