LG KU990i invalid USIM card error on Vodafone network
Hi - my son tried to change his passcode settings on his LG KU990i phone to prevent other people from using it. He now gets a mssage saying Invalid USIM Card. He is using a Vodafone PAYG card and I have removedit, cleaned it and repaced it but the problem is still there. He got confused when he tred to change his passcode and thinks tha he was asked for his USIM code, which he input incorrectly. Is there any way that this can be fixed? I would greatly appreciate some help with this. Thanks.

If the Phone says invalid Sim card means it locked to some network,You need to Unlock it.....You can Unlock the Phone, using the Unlock code from here Superunlockcodes and Unlock it.Check code for Your network lock and Country and Unlock it.....Then after unlock it you can use any GSM Network Sim card in the Phone,.
Try default codes or master rest codes to reset your security settings ,invalid sim is due to the network lock you na\may contact the service provider if you need to unlock it using codes try here http://www.mobileunlocksolutions.com/
990i's can only be unlocked with proper equipment. alternative way is by code lg themselves. i have account with them so can supply you code normally within 48 hrs. cost is £16 or 18 euros. you can pm firstname.lastname@example.org if you need more info
unlock phones are so unperdictable...there may not be a fix for this issue..other then getting an AT&T phone....and even if u are able to get it to start working again more then likely u wil continue to have many more isses..mainly becuz of the network changes..for example....using 3g and 3g only...last year the AT&T network was stil using both 2 and 3g network and there was even a few 2g SIM cards being sold in stores...now it almost all 3g..which of course complicates many things...even if u own a 2g AT&T phone a 3g SIM card can be and will be used on that phone....with unlock phones running on the 2g network the issues with not having a SIM card where possible...it was still unstable when wanting to use data services....but voice services were possible...now with everything going 3g...its makes things alot more complicated with AT&T if using a phone without SIM cards...if ur phone has the fuction to beable to shut off 3g networking and run on 2g.(like the apple iphone has) then try that....good luck
mine done the same, i put the sim into my dads phone and it aksed for a puk code i got a puk code from orange customer services and unlocked the sim using my dads phone when i put it back into my viewty all was fine hope this helps
This has alos happened to me, I put in the wrong pin 3 times, then as it was laste and it was asking for a puk, I turned the phone off to save the battery, when I turned it back on it came up 'Invalid USIM card' is there anything that can be done?
Debbie invalid usim means its been barred by the network, so whom ever the network provider is for the phone you will have to give them a call and ask them to un barr as you have just brought it. We brought on off ebay at christmas on orange as we're on orange and had the same problem. We called them and they took the barr off straight away, no charge. Jan
i had a lg u890 mobile phone that i got unlocked but it had the same proble where i swithched on my phone it used to ask for the usim code..my old phone was locked to the 3 nt/wrk i got it unlocked so i could use my 3 nt/wrk sim card or any network simcard but i used vodafone 3g sim card.the code i used with my vodafone 3g network simcard in phone when switched phone on & it asked for usim sim code i inserted code i got & it shut the phone down then on again then it wld work with vodafone no bother at all it even came up with vodafone uk etc.but i had to reconfigure the sms/text telephone number aswell as reconfigure the mms settings & numbers etc aswell as reconfigure wap settings from 3g network to vodaphones.but after i got it all unlocked & settings changed etc & inserted a different 3g network simcard ie vodaphone/orange/o2/3g sim/t-mobile/tesco sim/virgin sims & switched phone on it asked for usim code i tryed the code i have & inserted the same code i have it/they switched phone off & then back on & all network usim card worked with no problems at all.the code i have is.>>> 142358#*# thats 142358# * # all 1 item/action.once you insert that 142358#*# thats it your phone will shut down then restart up & go onto the network usim card you want to use or inserted before using code.but 1 thing tho please remember if u switch off your phone or your phone switches off as batterys run out no power u will need to insert the code again.& another thing code wont work if your phone switches off or you switch it off & plug your mobile battery charger into phone to charge your battery up on the phone & you switch you phone back on when you are charging your phone as the phone will switch on & say insert usim code if you enter the code the phone will switch off & back on again but it will still request usim code.so you will have to wait unto there is plenty of charge in the battery to take phone off charge & swithch your phone on get the usim code message insert code above phone will switch off & straight back on again & then it will go onto your prefured usim card then you can plug your charger into phone again to charge phone up.you can use your phone on charger when u have entered usim code & it switched off & on again & registered with the prefered network.i hope this is of use to you as it is to me.if you try this code & either if it works or not please can you let me knows ty.email email@example.com
