Screen is blank all other functions operable


Hook a spare monitor to the video output usually on the back, if okay! the inverter board just below the laptop screen is faulty "most likely" or the backlight behind the display has failed. But if both show the same symptom it is the video graphics card, normally bult into the motherboard.

what screen you have if you have screen with inverter-- probably the problem is inverter if you have screen without inverter like led screen--- the problem is in the screen Can be a screen cable problem or mother board

No image is coming out of its LCD. It's diagnosed to have damaged video chipset. It seems its cooling system is inefficient. model: Sony VAIO VGN-CR131E

Who diagnosed it?

If the surface of the "video chipset" (graphics chip) is damaged it may be possible for a specialist, with an Infra Red Workstation to repair it:

Ball Graphics Array Reflow

or

Ball Graphics Array Reballing

These repairs can be expensive and the fault can come back after repair.

But it might also be a fault with the LCD Panel, the Cold Cathode Backlight or the LCD Panel Power Inverter.

Connect the laptop to an external desktop monitor with a VGA cable, using the Fn + F5, F6 or F7 button to send the image to the external monitor. If no image appears, then the fault is with the graphics chip, if you get an external image then the fault is with one of the other components I mention above.

How do I get my PC video signal to my TV. I s there a way with a wireless router and how will that be connected to my TV. Thank you.


Hi, you can use basic video cables to get your TV to act as a monitor. It depends on which ports your computer and TV have. You can use an S-video cable, a serial cable (with the blue connector that many monitors use), an HDMI cable, or a DVI cable. If both your computer and your TV both have any of these same ports, all you need is the cable and you can have your TV receive video signals from your computer.

The first step is to inspect both your laptop and TV and identify the connections, easily located on the back of either component. There are five basic types of jacks, or ports involved:
*Composite/phono plug (RCA)
*S-Video
*Video graphics array (VGA)
*Digital video interface (DVI)
*High-definition multimedia interface (HDMI)
*An RCA connector, sometimes called a phono connector, is used for analog audio and video components. Three round, colored sockets are standard — left audio is white, right audio is red, and composite video is yellow. These are standard jacks on older TV’s and laptops. A three-prong cable, readily available at any computer or electronics, is the easiest way to make an RCA laptop to TV connection.
*S-Video, or Super-Video, a more advanced analog video connector, uses a four-prong round plug, like those used in TV cable installations. Separate audio cables are the same as for the RCA connector, left audio/white, and right audio/red. S-Video is commonly found on older TV sets and some laptops.
With S-Video on both TV and laptop, connecting a laptop to a TV is a simple matter of a single S-Video cable. If your laptop has a great sound system, you won’t need audio cables, but for better quality you’ll also want audio cables.
RCA to S-Video cable, a special laptop to TV cable, is available when you have RCA jacks on one device and an S-Video port on the other.
*A VGA connector and cable are used to carry analog video signals plus display and graphics data. The VGA is a 15-pin connector commonly found on laptops and other devices. With this port you need a PC-to-TV Convertor to connect laptop to TV. You simply plug the VGA cable from the source into the convertor, and use an S-Video or RCA cable out to the TV. The converter is USB powered, so there’s no external power adapter to carry around, making this laptop to TV connection entirely portable.
*A DVI port is rectangular with 24 pins arranged in three horizontal rows of eight pins for digital video; separate RCA analog audio cables fit into white and red plugs. DVI ports are found on Macintosh laptops; sometimes they are smaller than normal DVI ports and require an adapter, which usually comes with the laptop.
*The HDMI port, one-half the size of the DVI port, is also rectangular with 19 pins. It provides digital audio in addition to digital video, despite it’s smaller size, for a complete TV to laptop connection. These ports are found on new HDTVs, and sometimes there are two or more. TVs with HDMI ports are the only ones that do not require additional audio cables.
TV’s with a single digital port labeled HDMI/DVI require only one cable when the source is another HDMI component. But when source is a DVI laptop, you need a DVI-to-HDMI cable for the video and a separate pair of RCA analog stereo cables.
NOTE: Whenever ports do not match, you can by adaptors and/or cables to make any connection.

Shrinking of the display


The DB15 VGA (Video Graphics Array) connector contains however 15 pins in three rows of 5 pins each. These five pins carry the color and synchronisation signals, also a digital I2C interface for two-way communication between the video controller and monitor. The common 15-pin VGA connector found on most video cards, computer monitors, high definition televisions which support VGA connections. The following schematic diagram and table shows respectively connector and pin assignment of DB15 VGA.

I have double image I am looking at array but not


These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai2_bing.gif,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

My notebook screen 3000 n100 goes dark after few second


This could be a faulty CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

How i can know that motherboards have built in video


none of the cards u enumerated have on board video (don't know about the last one k9a6m2 f-h )

go on the producers site, at the motherboard u want and look for the back panel I/O ports :
