Maybe your problem is not on vista installer..
you need a audio driver..

if you are in a built audio card motherboard, you need the driver of your motherboard...
and reinstall your audio..

here is the link for Vista audio driver

you will be able to install this only after installing "Microsoft UAA High Definition Bus Driver"

Here is the download link for "Microsoft UAA High Definition Bus Driver"

No audio out put device is installed

You need to install the correct audio driver for your Vista lap top. The make and model of the laptop would make it easy for us to point you directly to them via a link.

You can verify your audio device is configured or not in "Device Manager".

No HD audio on Toshiba Satellite under Win XP Pro; Vista works OK

You almost have it correct. There is one more patch you must install before SP32646.

Read about kb888111.exe file from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111/en-us

But kb888111.exe is not available at that link. It is here:
http://geekswithblogs.net/lorint/archive/2006/06/11/81540.aspx Then re-install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (SP32646), and finally install the Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

Hi
it is a problem with sound Drivers.
You need to download / install the sound drivers which are comfortable with your motherboard configuration in Vista
Also please note most of the motherboards supports Realtek Sound drivers

You can download the latest version for vista drivers directly from Realtek website

Audio driver for compaq v2000 series of vista 32bit

Microsoft is pretty picky now-a-days as to which devices are valid for use with the OS. You'll need to check which components are valid with Vista and then pray Compaq submits them to MS to rate them for Vista.

Try and post the audio card make/model next time and I can give a better hit. I'll guess at it for now.

Check this link... for the driver. Here is the link that the EXE above comes from to put in context.

Look for this paragraph in the page "Conexant HD Audio "Waikiki" driver for HP dv1000 and Compaq v2000 series (this is an OLD XP driver that HP apparently thinks is good enough to post for Vista -- will only work on 32-bit Vista)"
