I cant install the driver of HP Deskjet F2100 series, HP Deskjet F4100 series printer to my new PC which is Windows 7

Okay, we need to uninstall the printer. Go to Devices and printers~right click on the HP printer and left click on Remove device. Then reboot. The correct drivers should get installed automatically. If not use the installation CD that came with the printer or better still (if the printer is old) go to the HP web site and download the Win 7 drivers/software for the F4400.

Drivers and software for supported OS versions are here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=3177560 . Select your model and then chose the version of Win7 you have. Download the full software.

Uninstall the generic driver from your computer first. (It's probable that you installed the OS driver which only runs the printer. If you leave this in place then you will confuse your computer.) Then disconnect the data cable before rebooting the machine. Now install the software from above.

Disconnect and turn off your printer.

Search by your printer model number and download latest drivers from here:

Start installation of drivers and connect your printer ONLY when the setup asks to connect your printer.

If it gives you any warning about "driver signature", just click on "continue anyway". After completing the installation, your printer will work fine.

Go to www.HP.com and choose Support and Downloads. Enter the printer info and select the driver you need.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

A web page will open. Follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., then click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
Afterdownloading,findthe file,doubleclick on the file, if you get introubles ,thenfollowinstructions below to reset and reinstall:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website and run the file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printer does not work on Vista

what kind of software did you use or did you just install the printer with the computer drivers i need more info about this problem
