Hi;my Yamaha receiver RX-V 373 will not turn on. No power. No display. It may be that the unit went into protection mode. Can anyone there, help me, restart my unit back to factory condition?

If you have power it should click before protection mode and have a light showing it's in protection mode.
After the transformer there's some resistors that have failed if it's in protection mode normally it's one or two that have failed, you can get the reading of what they should be by testing them

Disconnect it from power cable 30 mins, see if this reset works, for the rest sounds like you have a problem with the power unit.

Does anyone know what kind of transformer is in a soundcraftsmen class H power amp

Your Soundcraftsmen's transformer is ok. The protection circuit is kicking in and clicking because there's a problem on the outputs or else where.
Go to this link and read the last page for possible solutions. WARNING: Do not perform the reapir yourself if you do not have proper experience with high voltages!!!

The lamp indicator turns on

The clicking noise is the protection switch that keep shutting down the unit. This happens when an internal fault had been detected.

Do the following:

Unplug the unit from power for some time.
Remove the bulp and refit it in place.
Restart the unit.

If still in protect mode (clicking , lamp light and no start), then there is a fault.
When the problem is the lamp, the lamp light will come on, but usually protection does not click.
Before buying a new lamp that is expensive, have the projector checked, testing with particular attention the high voltage board that will supply power to the lamp. That may be the fault.
If you have a replacement lamp in storage replace the lamp first.

Power switch wont turn on,keeps clicking

The fault is not a relay, the clicking sound is just the protection circuit that prevents the TV from starting because a fault had been detected.

The TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

relay clicking is a power board failure --- part of the board still works to supply power to the flashing lights--- the lights are related to an error code while in protection mode
