I recently Opened Up My Laptop, to see what graphics card it was using to install the driver. The Laptop powers on and lights flash and the Screen just stays black. :@

What did you open? Does it have an add-in graphics card? Most laptops have integrated graphics. You could have possibly disconnected the feed to the monitor. A model would also help.

Check that your memory is completely seated in the slot. Also check that the cable connecting the monitor to the motherboard is all the way seated. If there is more than one memory stick, try alternating them one at a time to see if one of them may have gone bad.

You most likely have a problem with your videocard(Graphics Card or GPU). The rainbows that you see are called artifacts and these generally mean that your graphics card is either overheating or broken.

Artifacts can also be caused by CPU problems but wouldn't let the laptop run for any significant ammount of time.

I have a laptop toshiba l500d series. My question is the screen turns green only the black parts all the time. What would be causing this problem. Thanks

Hi, the screen may turn green when the Graphic Driver is corrupted. Please re-install the Graphic Driver in the Computer. The Graphic Driver can be downloaded from the Laptop Manufacturer website. Restart the computer after installing the Graphic Driver. If the issue persists, restart the computer and try pressing F2 Key to enter BIOS (Basic Input Output System) setup, then check if the screen displays green color. If the screen displays green color in BIOS setup then the issue is related to Hardware of either display or graphic card of the Laptop. In this case, please contact the manufacturer of the Laptop to initiate the service under Warranty. If the laptop is not under Warranty then service charges may apply.

Inno3D Geforce 256MB 128bit Video card

sounds like yo had the same Problems that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the monitor cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is running with your card you can also see that from the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped install the driver first then disable download latest drivers here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us

HP pavillion dv2000 black screen with all lights on after the power is on the operating system didn''t load. It is only black screen.

There are many problems that can cause this. It can be the monitor itself, it can be bad RAM memory, faulty hard disk, corrupted windows install, etc. The only surefire way to pinpoint the problem and get it fixed will unfortunetly be to get it to your local technician and get it opened up.

Graphics card prevents windows from loading

I agree with NeoDude007, Sometimes Windows update will find a video driver maybe newer that the one you are using but sometimes it will screw up the resolution or color quality.

Asus F3S Laptop Graphics Card Died

If you have run the laptop in safe mode it uses the standard VGA graphics driver, and this indicates the onboard graphics card is still functioning.
Try connecting and external monitor to your laptop and the boot up your laptop.
Then :-
1. Download the latest graphics driver from ASUS WEB site.
2. uninstall the graphics driver.
3. Reboot the laptop and install the new graphics driver.
4. Shut down and remove the external monitor and reboot.
5. Goto the Control panel - Display and check/set the settings for screen resolution, Colour setting etc.
