Yes you need to reset the lamp timer/counter. Here is how on link below. Far right side column.

Possibly, and one would certainly have to hope so. You can only test out the theory now by setting the timer to 00 which should allow the TV to remain ON until turned off. Most settings are 00 30 60 90. So if you can recall the period you were able to view that should guide you in diagnosing.

Usually, if your forgot to Reset the Timer, you would get Flashing LED's.As you got the Screen, i doubt this could be a Component Failure.
So, simply keep the Unit unplugged for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then try to Reset the Timer. It has to be done within 10 minutes of Powering ON the TV.
