Hi,

Not sure if you have windows vista , xp or 7. Depending on the operating system I would recomend you to first uninstall the software for the printer and then download the updated software and then install them. Note before installing it please unplug the printer from the computer.

http://www.givemefile.net/drivers/printers/dell/all-in-one_printer_926.html

After installation or in the process it will ask for the printer to be plugged in.

Let us know if you were looking for something more else please accept the suggestion.
Thank You for contacting Fixya.com

Make sure to clear any print jobs in the queue and properly shutdown the computer along with the printer (pull out the printer's plug). After like 5 minutes, turn them back again and see if you can initiate a print.

My Dad bought new ink cartridges ( black and color) and installed them in the printer and it is not registering that they are installed. What are some things I should check for and how can I fix this????

After installing new ink cartridges in your Dell all-in-one 926 printer, you may receive an error message telling you the print does not recognize the new cartridges. Refilled or third-party cartridges, which Dell does not recommend using with the 926, often trigger the error message. You may also receive this error after you have been using the same ink cartridges for some time. Whether the cartridges are new or not, the error can be caused by a number of sources. Following the steps below should clear up print cartridge problem.

  • 1

Open the Dell 926's front cover with the power on and wait for the cartridge carriage to come to a stop. Remove the ink cartridges by pressing on the tabs at the top of each cartridge. Check the cartridges to make sure you have removed all of the blue protective plastic film. Look for the "Dell" logo stamped into the cartridges' lids to ensure they are genuine cartridges.

  • 2

Clean the shiny metal portions of the ink cartridges with a damp microfiber cloth. Allow each cartridge to dry completely.

  • 3

Clean out any paper, staples or other debris that you may be able to see, then reinsert the cartridges into their appropriate slots. Put the black ink cartridge into the left slot and the color cartridge into the right slot. Make sure both click back into place.

  • 4

Close the Dell 926's front cover and turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord and USB cable from the printer for five seconds, then reconnect them.

  • If your Dell 926 fails to recognize the print cartridges after following the above instructions,

take it to a repair shop for servicing.

DELL PHOTO 926- ALL IN ONE- ERROR CODE- "UNSUPPORTED INK CARTRIDGE" HOW TO FIX THIS?

    Follow the below instructions

    1. Lift the printer unit up. Position the scanner support beam between the tabs to hold the printer unit lid open. The ink cartridge carrier moves to the loading position in the center of the printer.

    2. Press down on the lever in front of the right and left ink cartridges lid. The lid opens and raises up.

    3. Remove the color and black ink cartridges from the carrier. Inspect the cartridges to ensure that it is compatible with the Dell 926 printer. The proper cartridge is called Dell 926 Standard Capacity Color Ink and Dell Standard Capacity Black Ink.

    4. Examine the cartridges for any tape over the ink nozzle. New cartridges have a strip of tape covering the bottom of the cartridge that must be removed before installing into the printer.

    5. Insert the cartridges into the carrier so the label is on top with the color logo side going in first. Press the lid down to snap it into place.

    6. Push the scanner support bar back to release it. Lower the printer unit until it is closed.

    7. Turn the printer off. Restart the computer. Turn the printer on. If the error message appears again, the cartridges may be defective and needs to be replaced.

I hope this clears up your problem.

I refilled my dell ink cartridges from Costco. Now my computer says "Low ink warning" How do I do a hard reset for the Dell 926 AIO Printer?

The ink is fine in the cartridge. The ink level indicator just thinks the cartrdige is still empty. You can ignore the message or turn it off all together. Just bring in your cartrdige for a refill when it shows signs of fading or streaking. Go to www.inkjet411.com for more help

    Hi there

Replacing Ink Cartridges 1. Turn on your printer. 2. Lift the printer unit. 3. The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy. 4. Press down on the ink cartridge lever to raise each ink cartridge lid. 5. Remove the old ink cartridges. 6. Store the cartridges in an air-tight container, such as the storage unit you received with your photo cartridge, or dispose of them. 7. If you are installing new ink cartridges, remove the sticker and transparent tape from the back and bottom of each ink cartridge. 8. Insert the new ink cartridges. Make sure the black or photo ink cartridge is secure in the left ink cartridge carrier and the color ink cartridge is secure in the right ink cartridge carrier. 9. Snap each lid closed. 10. Close the printer unit. 11. An alignment page automatically prints.
