Well it is indeed possible that the Processor overheated and ruined itself due to that, unfortunately. But from what you describe I wonder if it isn't more of a Power Supply fault? OR maybe your power adapter is faulty?

What does it mean when my toshiba satellite L645D -S4040 is plugged in and only two lights come on and no power up and do not hear fan or the RAM running at all.

Sounds like you have a bad motherboard, oh and you can't hear RAM, either it's been hit by a power surge or it's burned out...

Toshiba satellite A200-27Z power cord led flasing failure to post will try any suggestions

Have you tried another Cord with the EXACT same power specs? Remove the battery. Has the cord/charger/transformer been damaged? Has the AC jack been damaged? Due to pulling on the cord while plugged in? At the AC jack "wiggle" the plug a bit to see if the plug and AC jack are making a good connection or Loose. Sounds like a loose AC connection.

My daughters Toshiba satellite l505d will not boot up correctly. It starts but then nothing happens. What do I need to do. Have already taken battery out and restarted. Any help would be helpful.

Try the following.
1. Remove battery and plug in the AC Adapter and check if it works
If yes - Battery is defective
If no - Motherboard Problem/AC adapter

2. Check the AC adapter LED indicator if its lighted or not(double check by a multitester)
If lighted - it works properly
if not - replace
3. Try to reinstall WINDOWS operating system by the use of the installer CD
4. Reformat your computer and install necessary drivers and applications

Thanks. Cheers!

How do I replace the keyboard?

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. nboulikas@gmail.com for any additional questions.

Toshiba Satellite Not working

Do you get any power when you try to turn it on? Is there anything that displays on the screen?

See if it is out of warranty for sure. Call Toshiba. If it is, then you might try to remove the compartment lid that has access to the CPU fan/heatsink. Look for clogged lint in the fan. Remove it if possible.

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite M35X-161. when i press the power button, it lights up, fans and hdd spin up. and then it kills the power after about 3 seconds. i have tried re-seating the RAM and...

Have you checked the DC jack where the power adapter plugs in. With the adapter plugged in, wiggle it and see if you get movement. Hold it upward and turn your unit on, if the power stays on, then it is the DC connector on the motherboard that is loose.

If your fan is working correctly, then check your ram. But experience has shown me that an issue like this is usually motherboard related.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Toshiba M35X S149, DC jack loose

Try this simple solution. Things get knocked loose all the time. Unplug the laptop and remove the battery. Undo the screws the cover the Memory modules on the bottom of the laptop. Remove then firmly re-seat the cards. Be aware of the retaining clips holding the cards in.

Replace battery, plug in, and boot.

Hope this helps, and you have nothing to loose but a little bit of time.
