Sometimes the nut will freeze on the motor especially if the motor was overheating and shutting down on its overload. The only trick I have found to break the blower wheel loose as applying any type of rust buster or bolt bolt penetrator on the backside of the blower wheel. Let it sit for a few minutes and get a 1in drive socket with an extension on it and put it directly in the center of the blower wheel. (it has a 1in drive in the center) Then grab the motor pulley from the back with a wrench or channel locks and try to break it loose with swift jerks on the motor pulley while holding the blower wheel in place with the ratchet. You will want to put the motor clamps back on to help hold the motor in place. Remember it is a reverse thread.

Swift jerks usually work better to break it loose than just increasing pressure. (if you dont have a 1in drive anything you can fit into the blower wheel to hold it in place will work).

If you still have no luck at breaking it loose you can always take a flathead screwdriver and a hammer and chisel around the blower wheel and break it off. The only downfall to this method is you have to buy a new blower wheel Part# 697772 for about 40 bucks.

Hope this helped _MJ_

You could also try just placing channel locks on the motor to hold it in place and grabbing the fins on the blower wheel with your hands and **** it in a counter clockwise motion. (Be sure to wear gloves because if it breaks loose you will cut your hand on the blower housing its sharp.)

Let me know how it goes _MJ_

Correction since its a reverse thread I believe it would be CLOCKWISE that you will turn the blower wheel.

How do I remove the impeller C105-238P

Sta-Rite pump. Possibly deluxe version? If so, has a securing screw in impeller. This has backwards threads! Remove first, then secure shaft from spinning, use a flat blade screw driver, or 7/16" open end wrench. See pics below, remove back end cover from motor, to expose.

Motor heats up and stops running how do remove

The blower fan on this model has reverse threads where it screws onto the motor shaft. At the small space between the motor and the rear wall of dryer you will see that the blower wheel has a square neck that will allow you to hold it stationary with a large crescent wrench. while holding the blower grip the pulley on the front of the motor with another wrench (or channel locks) and turn the motor shaft clockwise to break the blower loose. Sometimes a quick motion is better to free it as it may be on the motor threads pretty tight.
Good luck on this!

The blower fan is lose how do you tighten it up . Whirlpool Duet Dryer

Use a 3/4' wrench on the blower wheel and a 7/16 wrench on the front shaft of the motor. The threads on the rear shaft are left hand threads so make sure you turn the shaft in the proper direction.check the wheel for cracks, usually if they are loose they're damaged,
