Question about Zebra Printer 140-751-00000
We want to print labels, which should contain the data from a weighing terminal, like Gross,/Net & tare weight and a few other varaibles to a Zebra TLP2844 Label Printer, through a Serial 9pin connection. We configure the label in the Zebra Designer Software, with a header, but it seems that this software, which was included with the printer on delivery, don't have the facility/place to create a variable field/s, so we can cofigure a space/feild on the label, enabling us to print data from the weighing terminal once we connect the printer to the Terminal.
Is ther any software that we can get to perform this function? Or any other solution
Your assitance would be greatly appreciated
Zebra Designer (the free version) will not accomplish this. I recommend Bartender Pro from Seagull Scientific

Try LabelMatrix from Teklynx. If you buy the full version, you will get the ability to create code that will give you a 'dynamic' data field to do what you need to do. Software developers use this method to load programs to portables. Otherwise you get a bit-stream type of code that will not make sense since all the software used today is usually WYSIWYG.

This printer can be loaded into memory the design and receive the data from the weighing terminal for the desired layout.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Turn off the printer, then hold down the feed button while you turn it on again. After the configuration label prints, turn the printer off and on again, then try to print your labels.
If the barcodes still don't print, make sure they don't extand past the top, bottom or side of the label. If you software allows you to "clear the label cache" or "re-image the enitre label", try that.

Check media settings in the printer driver. Check version of printer driver. Zebra printersuse an internal printer driver with their Zebra Designer software (Zdesigner driver) or a ZUD (Zebra Universal Driver) for other windows applications. These drivers can be downloaded directly from the zebra website.
Alternatively you can download the seagull scientific driver and use that instead. (used with bartender program)
Label skipping occurs if the media dimensions are not specified correctly. The important ones are label height, and media setting for type of media.
Perform a media calibration before you go changing settings. Power on printer, Hold top and bottom buttons in on control panel for 5 seconds, release bottom button only then when printer starts feeding labels release top button. When printer finishes press feed button.

We are considering different print drivers. Zebra's tech support is horrible and staffed with lazy, blundering idiots.
