I have an LG Flatron monitor. It is remaining in "analogue power saving mode" or "digital power saving mode" when I press the source button. None of the other buttons work including menu and fEngine . The source button only toggles between the two power saving modes. Power button switches on and off - blue light then yellow light. Nothing happens when I press the Menu button. Is there anything I can do to solve this?

you may find you have the screen resolution set to high, try changing to 1024x768 and try again. if this works it means your monitor ain't up to the job of your better machines.

Power save modes
The unit has two power save modes of operation: preheat mode and auto power

Auto power shut-off mode
When the unit enters the auto power shut-off mode, the power save ( ) indicator

My pc monitor is showing a box say dmps suspend status

The DPMS standard (Display Power Management Signaling) was developed to extend the useful life of PC monitors as well as to conserve the relatively high amount of energy used by monitors when not required.

In brief terms it works as follows.

The DPMS compliant video controller and the DPMS compliant monitor use the Horizontal sync and Vertical sync signals to control the power mode of the monitor. Because there are 2 signal lines, it allows 4 modes of operation. Normal, Standby, Suspend and Off.

Go to your power management source located in the control panel and make the needed adjustments.

When I turn on computer, the monitor say going to dpm mode. any help?

DPMS (Display Power Management Signaling) is a standard developed to save energy and maximize the useful life of computer displays. By switching the horizontal and vertical sync lines on or off, a DPMS compliant video card provides the capability to place the monitor into one of four modes (Normal, Standby, Suspend, Off).
Each mode puts the display into a different powered state from fully powered up, to the Off mode. In the Off mode, only a small auxilliary circuit is running which monitors the horizontal and vertical signals to wake up the monitor.

How do I turn it on

Hello.

To power on the Gateway VX750, press the power button on the front. The power button has 3 sides with a "G" in the middle.

The LED indicates the power status of the monitor.
  • Not lit - The monitor is turned off or does not have power connected.
  • Blinks one time and then goes off - The LED blinks one time when the monitor's power cord is plugged into an AC outlet to indicate that power is detected.
  • Lit solid blue - The monitor is turned on and active.
  • Blinking blue - The monitor is in power saving mode. Before entering power saving mode, a message briefly appears.
Hope this helps.

LG FLATRON E700SH problem wid it is that .its led is flickering dimmly but screen is black out ..? buta sometime after 20m 45 minutes the monitors starts working .but some time it doesnt.??????????

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is malfunctioning, since the power led or button is on, but the screen is black out, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

LG Flatron L177WSB-how would I use my newly purchased unit after switching it on, LG logo appears followed by the Power Saving Mode it all goes black on the screen.

Hi, the Power Saving Mode, turns the screen off to conserve energy. On the remote, press Menu, and scan to Power Saving Mode. You can change the amount of time, when the Screen turn-off, the TV shut-off etc. You can set the time to (5 min) to, (never, turn-off). This should help with your problem. Thanks paul7of9

My dell e173fp monitor has quit working. The power light continually blinks when power is applied, even without having to turn it on. An identical substitute monitor works fine on the computer system. ...

Is the power blinking amber? This is a DPMS power-save mode. With the computer disconnected and the monitor on, do you see the colored self-test block floating around? With the monitor on, computer connected, and you still have no image displayed, take a bright flashlight and examine the screen closely. If you can see a very dim display in the screen, the fluorescent tubes which light up the *background* and provide the vivid picture(sort of like a how an x-ray picture viewer works) are defective. The power light blinking may be the power supply sensing the non-functioning tubes or it could just be bad. If your display is under warranty, replace it. If not, trying to have the monitor repaired for this type of problem is almost as costly as a new one--and there won't be an active warranty on anything else that might fail. Hope I helped you.---Rick
