I had same problem and called Keurig. They advised me that the gasket in the upper portion, where the top needle is needs to be brought down about half way, almost even with the bottom of the top needle. Be careful not to poke yourself. I brewed a cup with the resuable filter assembly and it worked great. It should stay in that position until you use an actual k-cup. When using it will push the gasket back up, as it needs pressure to puncture the hole. To go back to the resuable filter, you will need to lower the gasket again. She advised me that they are working on a fix for this issue and will notify you of any replacement parts, as long as they have your current contact info.

Yes, pulling down the gasket to the level of the needle, no water is escaping for a strong cup of coffee. Remember this processs has to be done each time you use the filter.
    Thanks

I just tried this and it works great. Thank you so much.

Try this. It works. Pull the gasket down to make a proper seal with the reusable cartridge.

Three things I have done to help the problem you are having. 1- Buy stronger (dark roast) coffee and grind it to espresso setting 2- clean the rubber seal that is around the puncture tube for the top. This seal comes off really easy, just slide it down off of the stainless steel puncture pin. Make sure you know which way it goes back on. 3- When you brew your next cup, push down on the handle as the keurig is brewing until it is finished. Pushing down a little helps that rubber seal do it's job better.

The coffee grounds are dry after the cup is brewed. It does not taste like fresh brewed coffee.

There's a needle that punches a hole on the bottom of the K-cup. That needle is clogged. Poke it with a paper clip or a thin wire to unclog it.

When using the reusable filter the coffee spews out in all directions with some of the coffee grounds

I googled this problem for 3 days. I was reluctant to try anything that would screw up my machine, as I have been very happy with it, except for the re-usable filter performance.
I wiggled the o-ring washer around top sharp thingie by maybe 1/8 inch and that fixed it. K-cups are running normal as well.

Hi ,Does this coffee maker require filters? How many scoops of coffee for 60 cups?? DCU60T

Hi,

No filters needed... just dump the coffee on the top pan....

I like my coffee strong and use about 1 cup per 10 cups of water....you may want to adjust to your tastes...
We use one of those units at church... they are a great unit...there they use a bit less cause many don't like it quite that strong...like 3/4 cup per 10 cups....

Water does not pass through the Mr. Coffee. Just started out of the blue a few days ago. Heating element definitely works as steam just pours out the back of it but after running for 15 mins or so only...

Most of the time the coffee maker just needs cleaning with some Vingar sulution run though it.Do this about every 6 mouths.what happens specially with hard water it cluggs line up.So go to store buy small or big bottle of Vingar put about 1 cup in and half cup water aloud it to go though cycle's.Then or you may put two cups of vingar and two cups of water depend on how clugg it is.Then after done fill water despenser up to run Full pot like 12 cups, but donot over fill.that cleans it from the Vingar taste. You may want to do this twice.Hope this help, thanks for your question it was a good one.

Does not complete the brewing cycle. Only cycles 1/3 of the water. 1-4 cup is NOT turned on.

First remove charcoal filter. Your coffee maker is clogged with hard water grime. Run 5 cups of vinegar through it twice, then follow with a couple of rounds of water to get the vinegar taste out. It will be as good as new.

Kitchenaid 14-Cup has plastic, chemical taste

Run 1/4 cup vingar with a pot of water. The coffee is not finishing its cycle and some remains in the works. You may have to do this several times. Washing the carafe with ice and salt by swirling it around a few times until it sparkels clean. Last thing for a good cup of coffee is filtered water which will keep the unit cleaner too. :)

Funny tasting coffee

Vinegar/water cleaning is a good idea, but it won't necessarilly solve funny-tasting coffee. First, replace your charcoal water filter - you can get the Cuisinart brand-name replacements at Lowe's, Bed/Bath/Beyond, or Williams-Sonoma in most areas.

To do the vinegar/water cleaning, just pour 1/3 caraffe distilled white vinegar and 2/3 caraffe water into the water reservoir and brew it like it was regular coffee - I would simply bypass the self-clean function if your Cuisinart has one. Repeat up to 3 times, using a fresh batch of vinegar each time.
(if you have the caraffe-less DCC-2000, then just pour in 4 cups vinegar and 6 cups water).

Then run a full cycle of water. Then run a combo of 12 tsp lemon juice and 12 cups water (or 10 tsp and 10 cups water) to improve the taste.

On your next batch of coffee, use bottled water just to rule out any possibility that your local water supply may be contributing to funny-tasting coffee.

Now your coffee should be tasting fine again.
