Question about Qca Spas Majestic Series Aruba Xl Hot Tub

2 Answers

I have the ball bearings showing up in my lounger in my spa and now realize that it is probably from a spinner jet after reading several postings. I just filled the tub and put in all new chemicals. Does this mean that I should not use the spa until I drain and repair that jet?

You can use the spa as usual. The missing ball bearings are only going to affect the jet that they fell out of, and since the bearing is already falling appart it is not going to hurt a thing. Most jets have non replacable bearings, so you will need a whole new jet anyways.

Well.. Ummm... Yes. really to be safe & responsible & to prevent any more damage. Just having it hot & using for a little bit, may be OK, but no water jets etc. No Water Pumping jets etc.

Replacing a Rear Tub Bearing

Rear Tub Bearing Replacement
(Part 1 of 3)

This advice is for replacing the rear wash tub shell of most Kenmore Elite HE model FRONT LOADERS, along with Whirlpool Duet, and some Frigidaire FRONT LOADER models. This is a repair that would be rated as difficult due to the extensive disassembly and reassembly of components.

The requirement to replace the rear wash tub shell is usually attributed to the rear tub bearing failure in which the bearings are molded into the tub and cannot be replaced otherwise. In some situations the replacement of the inner spinner basket (stainless steel tub) may also be required due to the corrosion and breakage of the spider arms in the back of the basket that support the basket.

SYMPTOMS: Washer exhibits excessively loud “rumbling” type noise during the spin cycle, excessively vibrates, or won’t spin at all.

DETERMINING IF THE BEARING AND SPIN BASKET ARE BAD: With the washer door open, place your hand inside the basket and push straight up. If there is excessive play in the tub (wobbles up and down) the bearing is probably bad. If the spinner basket scrapes against the outer tub shell when you give it a spin, you will have to replace the inner spin basket as well. Unfortunately, you cannot see the condition of spinner basket supports until it is removed from the outer tub shells. In some cases, a brownish colored stain my show up on clothing as the bearing seal has been breached and leaks into the spinner basket.

Before starting this repair, make sure you read through all instructions thoroughly and place the washer is in an area that gives you plenty of space to work.

Over heating spa

Are Jets staying on HIGH?
Are your controls mechanical or digital?
Exact Information of the spa control system, not the spa manufacturer, will help us to help you. The box below with all the wires coming in & out. Name, model, code & serial #'s will help.

When jets stay on & don't turn off, water will heat up just by circulation causing "Friction".

If mechanical, your thermostat may have failed. If digital, your temperature sensor may have failed.

Dirty filter can cause this as well, if your flow sensor is failing.

I also have a neptune TL FAV6800aww. Clutch/ main barrell bearin

I feel you have a Tub Seal Leak and from what you describe the Outer Tub bearings need to be replaced.

It’s a job but most DIY’ers can do this despite what you may see posted about calling in a expert and shell out $450+.

What are the 1st two digits of your serial number? They will be 10,11,12 thru 17.

How long can you be with the washer down?

I estimate a Tub Seal kit with Tranny O-ring and bearings to be about and the tool to be about $70…..but you get to extend the service life of your investment.

I will post a link with some info. I would not buy anything until your husband removes the Inner Wash basket form the Spinner Support. I had a difficult time removing the Spinner bolts from the Spinner assembly. You will need a impact tool to remove them air or electric.

I’m an owner not a repair person with basic mechanical skill sets nothing fancy. But you have done a Clutch maintenance or replacement and I feel you can accomplish.

Take a look at the post and see what you think. One of the links discuss a Series 15 with integrated One-Way Roller clutches in the upper Outer Tub bearing assembly. You will read how this owner got around this fantastic Maytag improvement…..they should have stayed with the Upper One-Way Roller clutch bearing ring for all series.

Series 15 outer tub bearing replacement;

Neptune TL Spinning Issue Will Not Proceed read thru initial troubleshooting to end of post.

You will need this tool to remove the Spinner Nut. See Page 48/49 of the Service Manual for removing the Spinner Nut. It can be done with a impact tool and a 1.75” socket.
My cost for Spinner nut locking ring and spanner I did not purchase the kit. All you need are the two items listed below ;

The clutch assembly is stuck although the cluthch

It sounds like the Spinner Shaft Coupler is severely rusted into the Clutch One-Way Roller clutches bearing in the Clutch Pulley and the Spinner Shaft. And if your machine is using the Upper One-Way Roller clutches bearing ring that may be severely rusted to the Spinner Shaft also.

Did you read my Clutch Fix post to disassemble and remove the clutch pulley assembly?

As you can see it’s a tight work area. You may have to rotate the Outer Tub out of the machine to ease removal. I suspect you could have a Tub Seal leak issue. I would lay the machine on it’s back protecting the drain hose exit and tap lightly with a hammer and see if you can free.

FAV6800AW, SN#15.... top loader Unit is very noisy when it goes into spin cycle. no codes, clothes come out fine. I removed the clutch/pulley assembly, and it's fine. spring is good and one way needle...

sorry if this posts twice, had to create 2nd acccount as u can't post solution to your own problem.
yeah, nobody has 0207-2RS. bearing numbers are TSB TW0207-2RS CHINA. I found U.S. Email address for TSB and sent inquiry.

The bottom of tub is exactly like that of pics posted above. No locking tab to hold spinner nut, just tightens up against lower bearing. The 2 open slots are also the same, wondering if I could use 6207 bearing as lower, then install clutch with one way bearing? What kills me is this bearing was good, I only pulled it as preventative maintenance since I thought I had a new one on hand. Only prevented me from doing maintenance. LOL!

I discovered tiny ball bearings in my hot tub. Where could they come from? The hot tub is working fine.

The ball bearings from your spa are from a roto head jet. Typically they are from one of the larger sized jets and they make the swivel action in the roto swirl jets function smoothly. You can determine which jet is coming apart by the loose function of the center nozzle. The jet can be removed and replaced to solve this problem. Most jets screw out but when they have deteriorated a lot, you may need plyers to take the jet out in pieces.
