Question about Motorola Mobility i880 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Is there a way to use a MicroSD Card larger than 1 GB

I read the i880 manual, and it said that you could use MicroSD Memory Cards. So I picked up a Sandisk 4GB card and the phone won't recognize it. I have been reading on the web that some of the phone companies "CAP" the size of the memory card you can use. Is this true? If so, is there a way to "UNCAP" it?

There is no way to uncap the phone's capabilities. It can only handle up to a 2GB MicroSD card.

Can I use a 8gb micro SD card in my Nokia 7390. If so how do I go about formatting etc.

The phone only supports 2GB or smaller capacity microSD cards. Walmart and Amazon both list SanDisk 2 GB microSD cards as in stock online. See http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MicroSD-Adapters-SDSDQ-2048-package/dp/B000OT94PO for one of these.

I've also seen the low capacity memory cards at a local grocery store.

The specs for the Nokia 7390 are available here: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_7390-1691.php . The manual is available here: http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_7390_UG_en.pdf . The Nokia approved microSD card is legalese to avoid responsibility if a badly manufactured card (cheap/counterfeit) does damage or fails to store your data.Go with a brand like Kingston or SanDisk that have a reputation of manufacturing good memory products.

I hope this helps.

LG800G wont recognize 4gb micro sd card

The LG800G works with microSD cards. Your 4GB card is actually a microSDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it's electronically incompatible and will not work with this phone. You need to use microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

What is the largest capacity micro SD card that a Samsung GT5230 can take?

According to the manual the phone can use microSD cards up to 8GB. However you're not likely to find any microSD cards larger than 2GB. Larger cards are almost certainly microSDHC cards instead.

Not enough memory on phone

You could try deleting some content on the phone that takes up space. There are many things that could potentially be using up space, including pictures, music, ringtones, and games. Delete all that you can and perhaps you will gain some more space.
Another option is to buy a larger memory card for your phone. I've done a little research on your phone online and found that it supports up to 2GB MicroSD cards but came with a 1GB MicroSD card. If you have the money, you can buy a larger memory card and just copy the contents of the old card to the new one. I've located one online for you for just $6.00 with free shipping at this time: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Secure-Digital-SDSDQ-2048-A10M-Package/dp/B000JLP5UK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307027909&sr=8-1.

Where do i find the micro sd on the nokia 6300

Insert a microSD card
Use only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device. Nokia
uses approved industry standards for memory cards, but some brands may not be fully
compatible with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device
and corrupt data stored on the card.
e211434.jpg

1. Remove the back cover of the device.
2. Insert the card into the microSD card slot with the contact
surface facing down, and press it until it locks into place.
3. Close the back cover of the device.
Remove the microSD card
Important: Do not remove the memory card in the middle of an operation when
the card is being accessed. Removing the card in the middle of an operation may damage
the memory card as well as the device, and data stored on the card may be corrupted.
You can remove or replace the microSD card during phone operation without switching
the device off.
1. Make sure that no application is currently accessing the microSD memory card.
2. Remove the back cover of the device.
3. Press the microSD card slightly in to release the lock.
4. Remove the microSD card from the slot.

Memory card not support.

Possible reasons:

1. Memory card not formatted.
2. Memory card could be larger than 2GB.
3. Brand of the memory card.

Nokia 6085 uses MicroSD (TransFlash) and it could support up to 2GB. If you're using a memory card that is not formatted or bigger than 2GB, you might get this error "memory card not supported'.

Sometimes, brands does matter. Nokia phones prefer to use Nokia memory cards. So you need to try using different memory card to see if there's a problem with the card or with the card slot on the phone.

Hope I answer your question properly.

Have a great day!

LG Fusic 550 Sprint - Memory Card Error with 8 GB Sandisk MicroSD

Believe it or not, a lot of the older phones (an even the newer phones) will not support the 8GB memory card. Most of the phones on the market that support 8GB cards are the smart phones and PDA's. There are a few standard phones that support it but not many. Unfortunately, the LG 550 is not one of them. :o/

You may need to take it back and exchange it for a smaller one.

what type of memory card are you using?

on page 24 of the manual it states the following:-

phone can use a memory card with a capacity of up to 2 GB (greater than 1 GB storage guaranteed only for SanDisk
microSD cards)

If you are not using a SanDisk card and it is greater than 1G this may be the problem.

have you tried to format the card frm your PC and then add the files?

I880 memory card

You can not use a 4gb on the iden i880 phone. The most you can use is 2gm that should be enough memory unless you want a lot of stuff on the crad you wont even use that much. The 4gb are the HC which is high capacity and the phone will not read it. Just buy 2 2gb memory cards and you decide what info you want on each or get a different phone...
