How do you get input to stop popping up every time you change the channel?

  • Anonymous Feb 06, 2010

Is there not a way to get it to not pop up every time you change the channel? It appears right in front of the the description for direct tv every time and you can't see what is on direct tv. It is very annoying!

Look for a button on the remote that says "Display" and when Input appears remove it with that button.

Yes, you should if it is the set be able to remove it with the remote for the set with the display button; If you are using a direct TV box it may also be coming from that---try the "Display" button on each remote one at a time---either it is the set or the box causing it to show.

Did you try to remove it with the TV remote?

It's not the remote because when we take the batteries out of the remote it is still changing channels, input source!! The channels just keep running just like the input source does. Sometimes stops.

unplug the tv for a few minutes and let reset and cool down when you plug it back in if not reset than internal problem with mother board either short or overheated and popped circuit

The tv was giving as a gift in 2012. So I believe that I put the right model in. I was watching the tv and went to change the channel, when I noticed that the box with the channel number looked differ

Your symptoms point to the main board [the board with all the input connections], no simple fix, you must replace the board. Less likely the keypad is bad, just unplug the keypad and see if channel display stops popping up.

AOC Plasma TV turns on by itself and changes channels non stop.

I have an AOC 32" LCD HDTV and it turns on by itself as well. Tuning is done via my cable box, so the tv is set on HDMI and I don't have the channel changing issue. I as well am trying to figure it out. The only thing I could suggest is perhaps the remote batteries are low and triggering on it's own. Try changing the batteries, or ensure that the remove it in a drawer or other room so that triggering the unit is impossible. Hope that helps.

Green box keeps popping up in upper right corner

You should be watching your dvd's on an input and not on tv analog 3. Every time the tv "senses" a signal change in the audio that screen will pop up. Connect the DVD player to the tv by using either the red, white and yellow (composite) connections or using the green, blue, red, white and red (component). Once you are on an actual input that box will stop popping up.

Mitsubishi tv

I found this online somewhere and it cleared my problem.

(my problem was a blue screen that said my input was locked enter in your code using the 10 key pad. Both inputs were locked, I used the steps below and it cleared it. We are now watching a dvd for the first time in months!) Thank you Bob Waterman whoever you are!)
