Question about Tomtom GO 910 GPS Receiver

Not switching on

The charging light comes on but when i switch the power on, nothing happens. I've not used it for a few months, but last week (via mains connection) it came on as i enterred a new favourite address. I also changed maps to us and deleted some favourites then changed maps back to uk.

Now it simply doesn't power up?

    I have the SAME problem, only worse. My 910 would not power on and I have tried everything. I sent it back to TomTom and waited more than 3 weeks and endured horrible customer service in the interim. These are the rudest folks you will ever talk to. In addition, the replacement that I received is now doing the SAME thing! It's obvious that there is a flaw and TomTom is NOT stepping up to the plate on this one. Everyone clams us when you tried to go up the ladder. Any clue on what to do next?

    Same problem TomTom opening screen come up but nothing else happens until the battery dies... this is ****. 100% unhappy with this product.

    I seem to have the same problem as others.The green light states its on but no power at the screen when you turn on manually!! I have tried the paper clip idea with no luck.I have tried charging the unit with the docking station with no luck.Sometimes if your lucky, when in the cradle the unit turns its self on and then freezes!! were do I kick it!! If your really lucky when it does come on it shows the battery icon flashing low charge even though the unit is pugged in and the green light is on?

    Its amazing how much your lost without it when troubles like this happen

Have had same problem twice but different solutions. Either 1. use a paper clip to press the reset button whilst holding down the power on button. Reset button is underneath and hard to see. or 2. Mother board failed and TOMTOM replaced it within 4 days. pleased with service. I am in the UK so that probably helped.

My Plantronic 230/R explorer headset completely lost it's charge. When connected to its charging adapter the red light come, stays red for a few minutes then goes out without charging the headset device....

Im strongly recommend you, buy a new original charger otherwise you can damage your headset.
The red light you saw probably because your charger is not compatible.

You can buy a new one via eBay.

When I slide the power switch, nothing happens (light does not work either). Worked a few hours ago. Charged last night. brand new!

Try to slide and hold the power switch until after you see three blinks on the power LED. Should happen after ~5 seconds of holding.

2002 S10 4 cyl 5 speed manual trans. Truck will not start, no power to starter, or starter relay, when turning key odometer readout goes blank in run position, and fuel gage appears to not power up aswell....

could be the security system. this same thing happened to my grandmothers s-10. she took it to dealer and sure enough thats where the problem lay. i would start there

Not all replacement parts are good. I would guess that the new ignition switch is bad. Its also possible that the wiring harness is loose where its connected to the ignition switch. You could try jiggling the wires.

Philips Freevents X56 laptop won't switch on!

Could be anyone of a number of things related to internal batteries. Let it charge for a while (does the charging light come on on the laptop? - isn't clear if the green light is on the powersupply or the laptop itself) and trying again.

Try taking the battery out and plugging it into the wall with only the charger and see if it turns on. does The green light came on?.

Motorla Razr V3x wont turn on, and now wont charge.

I had this problem too. Unfortuneately it happens often with that phone as i have been told. Mine got fixed about 10 months ago because it was under warranty and now it has happened again out of warranty and i have to pay for it to get fixed. Why should i when its going to keep happening every few months? It has nothing to do with the battery or the charger. The only way that it can be fixed is to take it to the manufacturer.
