The Canon digital SLRs have internal fuses on the main circuit board. These are soldered onto the main board and are not user replaceable. You will likely need the camera serviced by a professional repair shop or Canon USA. Check here on Fixya for someone local by zip code.

Toughbook CF-29 computer died

Torrential rain storm left out in it running? I'm sorry to say there is only one thing you can do for this laptop. "Do not turn it on at all again" Take the battery out of it and take it completely apart and use a blow dryer and dry everything out. "Everything" you may already be to late. Board may be shorted out and fried I hate to say it.
So take it apart piece by piece and top case and bottom case and dry it completely out. So that there is nothing wet or moisture is dissipated and gone. That is the only thing you can do to salvage this machine other than a new board, rain and left running in the rain is pretty easy to figure out that you may have ruined your computer leaving it running in the rain. "Lets hope this will work for you" I would be pleased to know if it did solve this matter drying it completely out." Do not power it up again until this is finished. John

Camera will not power up changed battery just went dead Nikon D70

Fixing a Dead Nikon D70 - Green Blinking Light My first-generation Nikon D70, which I bought the day it was released to the market a few years back, died on me a few months ago. Without a card in it, it won't start, and when you insert a CF card in the slot, the green data-access indicator flashes on and off. If I hold down the Menu button, the menu flashes on and off along with the green LED.
d70_87x1.jpgAs it turns out, this is a known problem with the original Nikon D70 cameras, and Nikon USA has a service bulletin out on the camera body. They'll repair it free of charge.
So, if you have the same problem, visit this service bulletin page, http://nikonusa.com/Service-And-Support/Service-Advisories/D70-Service-Advisory.page click on the D70, and you can access a PDF file that you'll need to print, fill out and send to Nikon along with your camera body. Be sure to take your camera strap off and remove the battery, and don't send any lenses or other accessories.
Mine's on it's way to Nikon now - they say the turnaround is five days (plus shipping time).

Put compact flash card in and camera went dead.

Take out the cf and see if your camera turns back on without it. If it does, then you have a bad card...replace it.

Error code 22

ERR 22: CF DRIVER
DESCRIPTION: This error occurs when image data cannot be written to the CF card. This error can occur when the CF card is not fully seated in the camera or if the D30 does not detect a card-ready signal within a specified time limit or when the CF card is not usable because it has been corrupted or physically damaged. It can also occur when the camera's battery level is insufficient to completely write the file to the CF card. REMEDIAL MEASURE: Use the DC Coupler or recharge the battery first. If the error continues to occur with sufficient power available to the camera, check that the CF card is properly inserted. If that's not the problem, then try replacing the CF card. If that does not solve the problem, have the EOS D30 and one of the CF cards that is causing the problem examined by a qualified service technician.

No Power To Canon Digital Rebel XT

Change out the CR2016 3V battery. You have to remove the rechargeable battery to get to the CR2016. Refer to the manual for proper instructions.

Had the same issue with a two year old camera. This solved my problem.

CF Excessive Power

Nikons and Fujis keep the CF slot powered, and "poll" it every now and then to see if a card has been removed or inserted. So yes, a camera may drain batteries much faster with a CF card than it does with an XD. But if it really does do this, then someone at Fuji deserves to be on the street, looking for a new job. Polling a card every few seconds does not have to be a traumatic experience to the camera. A Nikon can sleep for months, and not show appreciable battery drain. After what I've seen in the horribly slow CF write times of the S3, and the large artificial difference in write times between CF and xD on that camera, I'd say someone (or several "someones") at Fuji is doing everything in their power to make CF look bad and steer people into xD.
