You first need to know the make and model number of the motherboard. Most mobo's have the make and model printed on the board itself, other times there will be a sticker.

locate these and let me know what make and model and i can do my best to provide you with the manual.

Thanks,
Brad Nelson

How To Remove Front Panel For t5048 Emachines Tower

The eMachines T5048 Desktop PC, uses the NexGen 2 computer case.
(Also uses an Intel D102GGC2 motherboard)

1) http://www.hypermicro.com/mmhypermicrocom/images/CSEC004.JPG

The front panel is the Front Bezel.
It is removed by grasping the right side of it, and pulling out, G-E-N-T-L-Y

There Power On switch wires, Power On LED wires, USB front panel wires, Card Reader wires, etc., are still attached.

http://downloads.emachines.com/userguides/DesktopPC_UserGuide_en.pdf

(Page 47 - Removing the Front Bezel )

{ Note*
Usually there are plastic tabs formed out of the Front Panel, and they snap into slots in the metal computer case frame.

Usually 3 per side. They are flat, and have a hooked end.
They are pressed to the outside, or inside of the case, to release the hooked end away from the side of the slot.

LOOK at the tab. Look at the hooked end. SEE which direction THAT flat tab should be eased over to, in order to bring the hooked end away from the side of the slotted hole.

When the hooked end is in the middle of the slotted hole, the flat tab can then be eased OUT of the slotted hole.

DO NOT assume all tabs go in the same direction }

[ The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the wires from the Front Panel go to, (Except for the USB and Card Reader), is the Front Panel header.

This link shows you the Front Panel header pinout,

How does the power switch and led plug up on a GT5428 motherboard?

This is Gateway Support, and Support Documents for the Gateway GT5428 Desktop PC,

http://support.gateway.com/s/pc/R/1009466/1009466nv.shtml

On this page left-click on Components.

Scroll down the page to the heading - Motherboards
Left-click on -
4006158R - Intel (Coryville) 945G Motherboard

Now Left-click on - Product Views
Lastly left-click on -
O - Front Panel Connector

This shows you a photo of the Front Panel header on the motherboard.

A connection on a motherboard is referred to as a Header.

The Front Panel of your computer is the plastic part where the Power On button is.

The Front Panel header on the motherboard is where the wires from the Front Panel connect to.

The above is not to offend you, or insult your intelligence. Just wanted to give you the exact names of the parts you'll be handling.

Looking at your motherboard with the Processor to the top, and the Ram slots to the right, the Front panel header is located in the very bottom right corner.

Looking at the Front Panel header on the motherboard, you will note the different colors.

There are also Pins that stick up out of the Front Panel header.

Every 2 pins is grouped into one color.

The Front Panel header is located parallel to the outside edge of the motherboard.
There are 2 rows of pins.

One row across the top of 5 pins.
One row across the bottom of 5 pins.

The pins are numbered, as well as grouped into colors.

Starting at the Right side, going towards the Left, on the Top row;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

Starting at the Right side, going towards the Left, on the Bottom row;
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10.

Pins 1 and 3 ( Yellow ) are for the Harddrive Activity LED.
The light in the front panel that flashes when the harddrive is actively being used.

Pins 2 and 4 ( Green ) are for the Power On LED.
The light in the front of the computer that shows when the computer is on.

Pins 5 and 7 ( Blue ) are for the Reset switch.
The Reset button on the front of the computer, IF, the computer came with one.

Pins 6 and 8 ( Red ) are for the Power On switch.
The Power On button on the front of the computer.

Pin 9 (Black) is for the +5 Volt power

Pin 10 is not used. (Not connected)

The reason I took you the long way, and did not just provide a link to the Front Panel header, is in case you need more information about your computer.

This way you'll have it.

Emachines t3830 I need the schematic for MB I umployed the wire for the push bottom without looking at the way they were plug. Now I do not know the correct aligning of the push bottom wires.

If you look at the motherboard there is usually a diagram labeled "FRONT PANEL HDR" that will tell you which pins are for: HDD LED, PWR LED, RESET, PWR ON. etc.
The chart / diagram may be a few inches away from front panel header.
the following example is from my emachine T2893 that I had opened because it won't power up.

the motherboard at the header connector labels pin #2 and with that you can figure out the other
pin numbers

example of diagram on motherboard (Confirm the pin numbers on your motherboard)

J9G1 PINS
| HD LED | 1 - 3 |
| PWR LED | 2 - 4 |
| RESET | 5 - 7 |

| PWR ON | 6 - 8 |

Hope this helps you figure which pins to hook you switch up to.

I need a manual for desktop computer (how to build one or the motherboard wiring)

This motherboard is made by FIC. However, FIC this is an OEM Board made for Compaq, they do not support OEM Boards. Here is a link to their motherboard support page. They probably have a board that is close to that, so you still may be able to assemble it using a similar board type.

How do hook up front panel power switch to motherboard

The simple way is to remove the front panel of the computer trace the wires to the front panel leds, make note of color pair to each led. The using the manual that came with the motherboard locate the schematic for the JFP1 connector on the motherboard, it show's where the leds wires connect to operate. If you have no manual, if you look very closely at the connector you will see where the led wires connect, you may have to use a magnifiying glass and flash light. You cannot damage anything if you accidently place the led wires in the wrong place. If the panel led wires are in a single connector and won't work on the motherboard, you can remove the wires from the connector by using a very small sharp pointed pick to push down the retaining tab on each wire, thus enabling it to be removed from the connector, just be patient. D530 CMT minttower power problem

Hi, from your description it appears your power supply is ok.

Remove your RAM chips, clean everything with a soft brush or a can of compressede air [from computer store] Reinstall the RAM making sure it is seated firmly.

If this does not solve the problem, Are you using 1 or 2 RAM sticks? if 2 then remove them again and swap them around.

stick one in dimm2 and stick 2 in dimm 1.

If you only have one stick then beg or borrow another stick and try it. If all fails you may have developed a mobo problem.
