Why does door open when in use anew lock has been fitted but does'nt seem to hold the door in the closed position comes open by it self tumble dryer then stops any IDEAS ?

Take a close look at the installation of the latching mechanism. There may be a slight adjustment that could be made to cause the latch to fully engage. I'm thinking the replacement was not placed in perfect alignment and the latch is failing to secure the door.

Look to see if there are slotted holes at the mounting surface indicating adjustment potential. Look on both pieces of the door latch as the mis alignment could be on either. Also check the door spacing across the top. Is it perfectly aligned or is it lower on one side by a half-millimeter of so indicating a hinge issue? A subtle change in the height of the door on one side could be the cause of mis alignment of the latch.

HI,MY DISHWASHER DOOR HAS BECOME VERY STIFF TO OPEN ALTHOUGH IT CLOSES WITH NO PROBLEM. when I looked underneath the door grip handle, there's a little white thin skittle shaped pin .,......when I push...

Hello

Open the dishwasher door and inspect the latch mechanism for obstructions or immovability.

Clean out the door latch with a stiff bristled brush, and apply lubricant. Open and close the door to see if it now latches shut.

Check the door latch and strike plate alignment. Close the dishwasher door slowly and observe the door latch meeting the strike plate. Determine whether the latch is striking the plate correctly. If not, use pliers to gently bend the latch to meet the strike plate.

Gently hammer the latch to better align with the strike plate. Hammer carefully so as not to break the latch or dislodge it from its attached point. Open and close the door to see if it now latches.

Realign the strike plate. Loosen the strike plate with a screwdriver and slightly move its positioning to better align with the door latch. Tighten the strike plate and open and close the door to see the results.

Soap dispenser door pops open

Try cleaning the compartment. If the latching is not OK, it could be a latch problem, or alignment, or total dispenser. Contact service provider for assistance.

The door is stuck. The latch will not release.

If you look carefully near/under the latch, you will probably see some screws that holds the latch handle on. As you remove those screws, it will probably be obvious how to get the door open.

If you post the manufacturer and model number back here, I can be more helpful. OK?

If i have a problem with my mdb7601aww dishwasher door can i replace it with a stainless steel door instead of the white door

When I searched the parts list for your dishwasher, I only found the door panel available in white but call the manufacturer and ask them because I believe you may be able to change to stainless.

when the door is open it should look like the picture , i suggest your door is in the closed position and why it bounces off as you say , take a , lets say a screw driver stick it in where the little lever thats sticking up , push the door open button on the outside door handle , pry that lever forward , if successful try it , and lubricate it , hope my barbaric picture gets the point across .

DISH WASHER, STILL HAS A LEAK FROM THE DOOR.

Once the gasket is in place, check it for fit against the door frame. It should fit tightly with no cracks or bulges between the gasket and the frame. If necessary, tighten or loosen the retaining screws, or refit the gasket in the clips or the door channel. Then run the machine through a washing sequence and check for leaks.

If you spot a leak, and the gasket seems to be properly in place, try adjusting the door latch. The trick is to position the gasket against the frame of the door without flattening the gasket or squeezing it too flat when the door is latched properly. Adjust the latch or the gasket until it fits snugly against the door frame.

Servicing the Door Latch

The latch on a dishwasher door is opened and closed repeatedly, and this hard use can lead to mechanical problems. The latch may be loose, or it may have slipped out of position, throwing the alignment off and preventing the door from closing properly. When this happens, the latch does not engage properly, and the dishwasher will not start.

In many cases, you may be able to solve the problem by adjusting the position of the latch. Move the latch slightly by loosening the screws that hold it. Slide the latch with your fingers or pliers; the screw slots are made especially for this purpose. Close and open the door to see whether the latch is properly aligned. Tighten the screws to hold it in the correct position.

After repositioning the latch, check to see if it's working properly. Close and latch the door and turn the control knob to the ON position. If the dishwasher doesn't start, the latch is faulty. Replace it with a new latch, connecting it the same way the old one was connected. You may have to move the new latch back and forth several times before it works properly.

PLEASE mark this answer as a fixya! thanks

Maytag neptune won;t rinse

Check latch mechanism for alignment. Often operation of machine loosens latch mechanism causing internal switch for "door open (or ajar)" preventing rinse or spin cycle. Opening and closing door presses latch mechanism closing internal switch allowing for continue processing to rinse or spin cycles.
