Remove Casio PCR-T2000 Tax Table 2

Casio PCR-T2000 help. Tax Table 2 has been programmed, and I'd like to clear/delete it. I've changed the amount to 0%, but it still prints on our receipts. How can I "un-program" it. I'd like to essentially clear it out entirely, so that it isn't showing TAX-AMT 2 on our receipts.

Great! Thank you very much! Is there any chance you know how to do this exactly? I've tried this (I think) for simply one department. Do I have to do this for every single department? Maybe I went about it incorrectly. Let me know if you know the steps I need to take to complete this. I'd LOVE it if it no longer said, "TAM-AMT 2" and TAX 2"

    Thanks again!

  • mandisb Feb 08, 2010

ALSO I programmed it doing this for tax table 1 and tax table 2:
    1. TURN KEY PGM
    2. PRESS 3 AND SUBTOTAL
    3. PRESS 0125, 0225, OR 0325 AND SUBTOTAL
(0125 FOR TAX TABLE ONE, 0225 FOR TAX TABLE TWO, 0325 FOR TAX TABLE THREE)
    4. PRESS TAX% (8.25% IS 825) AND CA/AMT TEND
    5. PRESS 5002 AND CA/AMT TEND
    6. PRESS SUBTOTAL

Unfortunately, I tried this on many departments. It is still showing Tax 2 on our receipts. Can I restore the cash register to factory settings and reprogram it? Can you think of another solution?

    Thanks so much!

    Sorry for all the re-posts.

  • mandisb Feb 15, 2010

Only T1 is showing up. Departments 1-22 are displayed, and next to all of them it says 'T1.' %- has an * next to it, if that makes any difference. But there is no sign of T2 or T3.

No T2 next to items, only seeing TAX-AMT2 on the receipt and TAX 2.

  • mandisb Feb 18, 2010

I've done this... unless there's a way to hit skip, that I've missed out on.

  • mandisb Feb 18, 2010

I have the feeling that once you've programmed Tax Table 2, you're stuck with it. I did try to reprogram using the HELP step-by-step format, but it still prints table 2, even if you skip over. It just prints 0.00. I'm strongly considering clearing the memory and reprogramming it. We only use 3 departments, and I'd just have to program our tax rate and store information for the receipt. It may take me an hour, but I think it is far worth it considering how confusing it is for customers. It's not fun having to promise and explain to them that we didn't charge them twice for tax. Thanks so much for you constant help and patience. If I clear the memory, will it clear the grand total? I don't think it will... do you know how to do this?

  • mandisb Feb 18, 2010

During the help menu when I type the rate for Tax1, I actually don't know how to just type the rate... in fact, I have to give it a code for an area, like a state for example. Which doesn't work for us here in Seattle, because the register is so old, the rates don't apply. I don't know how to simply program the Tax1 rate, so maybe there is hope. Do you know of a way during the HELP setup to type in the actual rate (9.5) rather than a code for our region?

I've totally tried that with multiple states... once you've programmed TAX 2, you're stuck with it. You can't skip over it, it'll give you an error message, and you have to enter the 4 digit state code, which is super lame.

No worries, you've really been a huge help! Do you know how to clear the memory? It's not in the manual.

Hi. You are working in the wrong area. You need to tell each department not to add TAX2. Go to the department programming, and there should be a setting that says use tax1, use tax 2 etc. Turn off tax2 for any depts that you don't want it added and it will no longer print or calculate tax 2 for that department.

    Turn key to program mode
    3 SUBTOTAL
    0366 SUBTOTAL
    1
    Now press a department
    SUBTOTAL

Turn back to REG mode and try a sale with that dept. If it works, do it to all of the other departments

Ok. That's strange. You certainly don't want to RAM clear the machine. You would cause yourself hours of re-programming to get rid of one setting.
Firstly, we need to see if the tax status is now correct.

    Turn key to program mode
    Now press SUBTOTAL

A list should print. Next to the departments, you should see a tax status 'T1', 'T2', 'T3'. Let me know which T numbers are printing.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Feb 17, 2010

Ok. That's good. that means the departments are not calling tax2.
When you use the departments in REG mode, are you seeing T2 next to any departments, or just T1? Are you only seeing TAX-AMT2 ot T2 as well?

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Feb 18, 2010

Ok. There seems to be no tax-amt print option, so it looks like this model will print it simply because you have programmed a 2nd tax rate. The next thing to try is pressing the HELP button and follow the tax setup. Choose the skip option for tax2 and just set tax1 and see what happens.

During the tax setup (using help menu) there is the part where you type the rate for tax1 and press CASH. Try pressing SUBTOTAL straight after that. If that doesn't work, type the tax1 rate, then press CASH twice, then SUBTOTAL. If you RAM clear the machine you will lose all totals in the machine. Thats why I didn't want to suggest it. You can change the message so it says something other than tax-amt2. You could put spaces in to remove the label or name it 'extras' or something that won't upset the customer when they see it has a zero dollar amount.

    Turn key to Program mode
    2 SUBTOTAL
    1301 SUBTOTAL
Now type new name using characters
    00 (double zero button)
    CASH
    SUBTOTAL

Ah, thats right. the USA models often work like that. For now, just choose any old state/location for tax1 as a test. If it works, and removes tax2, you should be able to edit the rate using the memory number programming later.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Feb 18, 2010

That's it. I've run out of ideas. Either RAM clear the whole machine, or change the name of TAxamt2 to something else :-( If I had one to sit and play with, I could probably work it out but the closest I got to Seattle was flying over on a trip to Vancouver.

Pull out one of the batteries in the printer compartment, turn off at wall. Make sure key is on REG then turn on at wall. When it stops printing, put the battery back in. Make sure it has 2 decimal places for the currency, and set the date then make sure the date is printing correctly for USA system (MMDDYY). If not, don't program it. Just let me know.

How to program two non cumulative taxes on a Casio PCR-T2000A?

Firstly, change the rates for each tax in the tax rate setting tables of your manual. Then you need to turn on tax rate 1 and 2 for departments that need both. This is done in the department programming tables. Tax setting can be quite involved so follow the tables carefully. If you need a programming manual, One of the users has it here:

How do I rename a tax table on my Casio PCR-T2000? I am interested in changing all my registers to the Ontario HST of 13%. Thanks very much.

Use the PGM key and set to PGM. 3, sub total, enter tax table {1, 2, 3, 4}, Tax PGM, 13.00, ca/amt tend, skip to set 'round off/add-on', ca/amt tend, sub total. 4 tax tables are used for the following purposes: table 1 for the federal tax items, table 2 for the provincial tax, 3 and 4 for provincial and different tax table.

I have a casio pcr t2000 and just can't figure out how to program our companies logo onto the register receipt

Try this:

Turn key to Program mode
2 SUBTOTAL 132 SUBTOTAL Now type the characters for the first line of the receipt using the alphabet on the edge of the buttons. If someone has removed the letters from the keys, just find the alphbet layout in your manual. 00 (double zero button) CASH (maybe labelled CA/AT) 232 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for second line 00 CASH 332 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for third line 00 CASH 432 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for fourth line 00 CASH SUBTOTAL
NOTE: You might have to do 2 receipt prints in REG mode to see the changes
