Question about AT&T High Speed DSL Modem

1 Answer

Motorola MSTATEA takes long time to "reconnect"

Whenever my Motorola MSTATEA loses power -- such as if unplugged or if there is a power outage -- it takes a long time to work again after the power is restored (over an hour). The power and ethernet lights will be on and the DSL light will blink green, but no other lights come on. It eventually works, but it takes a while.

Check the speed and call ISP tech support to run the line test
Before calling them do a complete power cycle
Turn the modem off and the computer off and router if any
Wait for 30 seconds and turn the modem on and wait for the lights to turn solid
Once ready turn router if you have else computer
Delete the temporary internet files browsing cookies, cache memory.
If the modem turns too hot after running for an hour please replace the modem
DSL light blinking green indicates that there s no proper signal to the modem
Check the wall jack for any loose contacts
If you have any filter check them too
Isolate them and try with it
Change them if possible

What do I do after power outage and monitor will not work?

If the device was plugged in when the outage started and / or when power was restored - it may have suffered a power outage related voltage "spike" (or instantaneous rise in voltage greater than it is designed to handle).

Unplug it for 5 - 10 minutes and reconnect. If it fails to function you may need repairs or replacement. Try a different monitor on the computer before condemning it - it may be a problem with the computer's video card instead.

After a power outage tv wont turn on

I get these in the shop all the time, usually when there is a "Power Outage" there is also a "Power disturbance" meaning Spikes, Surges, Transients and the like, are generated at "Drop Off & Reconnection times" These disturbances will Damage anything connected up that has NOT been turned OFF, or unplugged. I then will, at the Clients, behest, write an insurance report, so the client may claim on their insurance policy. As this is something that is usually covered, after all, it was, and is an accident. Always note down any times when events such as this happen, this adds credence to all claims.
You see what happens is when the power is cut off and then reconnected, the doing of that causes all sorts of Sparks, Surges, Spikes, and Overvoltage Transients, ALL of which, will damage the power Supply, and often migrate past that too, and "Get into" the "Other" circuitry, and destroy it too.
This also happens during lightning storms as well, it is prudent to unplug things at these times too. Now many things are indeed resistant to these problems described however, they do not always afford protection 100% of the time.

I had a power outage in my neighborhood the other day and ever since then my wii isnt turning on. what my be the problem?

Whenever I have a really bad thunderstorm that ends up in a power outage my wii does the exact same thing...

I don't know what the cause is but what you should do is just unplug it for about 12 hours (about how long i leave it unplugged everytime), plug it back in and if it is the same problem as I have it should work fine (until another power outage...)

BUT if it still doesnt power up leave it unplugged for another 6 hours, after that if it still wont turn on id call nintendo and find out what the problem is...

How do i reset my cordless phone after a power outage

Most cordless phones can be simply reset by taking it out of the base and removing the battery. Put it back in after a minute. Note that you may lose your contacts on your phone when you reset it using this procedure.

DCT6412 DVR Box

When that happens its most likley you had a power outage and the box reset.  Well kinda reset but not all the way.  You can unplug the power and wait about 10sec and plug it back in and wait a few min to a few hours, and If that doesn't work get a new box.

DI-524 Intermittent Loss of Wireless Capability after Power Outage

Try upgrading the firmware through the Routers Web Interface , and see if this will fix the problem otherwise the only other way around it is to do what you are currently doing and unplug and plug it back in, perhaps the AP was damaged as a result of a power surge , if the problem persists best bet is to buy a new one.

Goodluck!

Unplug the machine for 4 hours & then plug back in. If you get the same symptoms, it will be cheaper to replace with a new one. Power supply is probably blown.
