When turned on a long beep then every 15 seconds beeps continue

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.

make sure that your RAM and Cmos battery are securely seated

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have and end to function
the beeps are post pre operating system searching for some hardware it could be RAM cd/dvd hard drive or motherboard all of these must have secure connections for the computer to work
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all electric current and computer data to travel to and through every working device and have an end to work properly click start right click on my computer so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps

I need all the drivers and updates for my mobo sy-p4vda

You aren't going to find updates as there haven't been any. Soyo no longer makes motherboards, and they don't even have a website now where you can go looking for drivers.

A Google search for "soyo sy-p4vda drivers" turns up many sources, all driver sites but not connected with Soyo. The trouble with these sites is you don't know for sure whether the drivers you find are correct or the latest the manufacturer offered. But sometimes it's the only way to find what you need.

Good luck with the search, and thanks for using Fixya!

I am trying to install SY-P4I 845PE motherboard into a case... need help with arranging the cables from my case to right pins on the motherboard

This board is a oldie...
Its going to be slow with the 3 ISA slots.
Anyway, most important is the 24 pin power connector and above to the right is a 4- pin video plug, which you must have to complete your video output.
Next, close to the CPU holder is a 3 - pin CPU fan connection.
Next, your IDE drives, you may want to check your pinout on the cables you are using.
Next, is the USB connections.
Sound, power on, turbo, reset and leds should all be together on one block.
Hope this has helped you.

Soyo SY-P4VDA Motherboard Problem

best thing to do is disconnect floppy, take all other board/pc card out of the computer remove cdrom, now you just have a hard drive
turn it on see where it goes. if it doesnt work try a different hard drive or just the cdrom but make sure you have boot from cdrom on in your bios.

Wd sata hard drive is not being detected by the mobo

Sounds like issues I've had in the past...

But the funny thing was that after all was said and done, the fix that I figured out what easy.

Let's see if this works for you.

Get into your motherboard's BIOS setup on bootup. Check into the first section of the BIOS labeled "Standard CMOS Settings". You should find settings for all drivers there.

You have a set of various settings such as "User" or "Auto" for each drive entry there. Set them all to Auto so that they can properly detect the drive's settings on startup.

If you use "User" it will be looking for user-defined settings for each drive channel. These don't typically work too well.

The only thing that eludes me here is this... What kind of drive is it? I'm assuming that it's an IDE drive. But it could also be a SATA drive.. Given it's size, tha'ts probably the case.

I'm not sure exactly how your BIOS is set up of course... But be dynamic and apply the principles I have described above to whatever settings you find in your board's BIOS.

You might also want to check to make sure that the jumper on the back end of the drive is set correctly, too. If it's a newer SATA drive that is capable of running at 300, then make sure to try setting it to the previous 150 speed and see if that works. It may mean that the drive's speed is set too high for the motherboard's SATA ports.

I'm more familiar with Seagate drives, though. Yours is a Western Digital. They're usually a bit different of course.

Keep us updated. :)

Wd800jd sata hard drive not recognized in bios on boot up

Hi, A couple of ideas: 1. There are 3 versions of this motherboard: Dragon Plus, V1.0 & V2.0, perhaps your BIOS needs an update to be able to recognize the new HD. This of course would require flashing; 2. There are two variations of a WD SATA hard drive: Serial ATA amd Serial ATA II; 3. Re Jumper settings: the eight-pin jumper block is only used to enable power management on the drive. There are no master/slave settings since there is only one drive per cable; 4. If you are fresh installing Windows on it, you need to press F6 when asked by the Windows Installer and follow on-screen instructions. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information.
