Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
Washer is 5 years old and is making alot of noise during final spin. Serviceman replaced the shocks but did not solve the problem. He checked everything else and said was ok. Now they tell me the drum is "warped" and I am better off getting a new machine. I only use for typical laundry and have not misused the machine in any way. I'm not very pleased with that as I thought I was buying a solid machine that would last longer than this. What else could it be?
These frontloads are notorouis for having their rear bearing go out... if machine is all level and service told u the tub is bad then i would probably agree.... most of the newer frontloads had a 5yr parts warranty on the tub.....thet rear bearing is actually built in to the rear outer tub so replacing requires allot of labor as one must teardown unit and remove both drums and seperate and install new parts.... i would check your warranty for ur specific options,,, hope this helps

Testimonial: "Thanks for the comments. That is basically what the serviceman told me. Guess the days are gone where things are built to last. "
