Hi, you could try the following steps, if you have not done so already. Some of these steps may seem like common sense, but it's for people to forget about checking the least expensive part to replace first, so if some of the steps are those that you have already tried, then feel free just to skip through to the ones you have not tried already.
  1. 1
Make sure the power cord is plugged firmly into the outlet. The steam mop will not start if it the power cord is loose.
  2. 2
Check the fuse box or circuit breaker connected to the outlet the steam mop is plugged in to. Replace any blown fuses. Reset any tripped breakers.
  3. 3
Check the water tank if the Shark steam mop will not produce steam. Add water to the tank if it is empty. The mop will not make steam without water in the tank. To fill the tank, turn the tank cap counterclockwise and lift it up to remove it. Set the filling funnel into the tank opening. Pour water through the funnel into the tank until the water level reaches the "Max" fill line on the tank. Replace the cap.
  4. 4
Inspect the microfiber cleaning pad if the steam mop is leaving water on the floor. If the microfiber pad is too wet, it will leave water on the floor. Unplug the mop from the wall outlet. Replace the microfiber cleaning pad. To replace the pad, move the latch strips out of the hooks on the mop head. Pull the pad off. Set the new cleaning pad on the mop head. Hook the latch strips onto the hooks on the mop head.
  5. 5
Use distilled water if the steam mop is leaving white spots on the floor. Hard water may cause white spots to be left.
If none of the above work, then is it something that you purchased recently, and is new? If you did, then it could still be fixed under the manufacturer's warranty regardless of whether or not the original length of the warranty has expired. This could be due to the fact that you have received a product that has some sort of manufacturing fault, rather than it stop working through misuse by the user.
If it's a common problem, then you will more then likely be able to return it to the manufacturer and have it replaced for a new one, let alone repaired :-) - This only applies to whether or not the item is New though :-).
Hope this info helps

I own the shark steam mop S3501CO the light comes on the tank gets warm but no steam comes out

I posted this solution explaining how to clean the heater core.

Based on what I found when I disassembled my S3501 it would be very hard to clear heavy mineral deposits by just squirting CLR or vinegar soak.

The mop just stopes making steam to the head. Could this be A heat coil problem? Also a lot of others have had This happen.

On these steam mops, you have to use distilled water, if you use tap water and do not have a house water softner or some kind of water filtration system, the water running thru the tubes of the steam mop
will develop calcium deposits, these deposits are caused by hard water and will clog up the tubes, and keep the mop from producing steam, then you will have to replace the lines. i own this brand of steam
mop and had the same problem you had, I replaced the lines and started using distilled water, and have not had any problems since and that was last year. good luck!

Lots of steam appliances these days claim tap water can be used in them without problems. This claim is not true for everyone and is really a marketing strategy as the traditional requirement for only distilled water to be used was severely restricting sales.

When such appliances are used in a hard water area the steam generator and outlets will soon scale and become useless so distilled water or similar is still the best thing to use if a long service life is to be obtained.

Cleaning the internals would be simple except they aren't usually constructed in a way that allows the necessary dismantling. Even when screws are visible they are often sealed with strong adhesives that must be overcome and replaced on reassembly for safety.

A handyman might be able to help but the most likely person would be the chemistry teacher at your local school, as he would have access to stronger acids...
