Trying to play guitar hero with guitars playstation 2 game but the guitars don't work. changed batteries but nothing happens. what do we do so tv/game recognises it? do we need some sort of sensor to plug into the ps2 to pick up the guitars? thanks susi

Could just be broken, make sure that the batteries are in the correct way (+/-). Are both of the adapters lighting up?

try:
1.turning off guitar,plug in adaptor to system,turn on guitar
2. change out the batteries (and check if batteries are secure.)

Try taking out all the buttons and cleaning them. It might just be the contact is bad and has a bit of dust.

the same problem happened to me, and i just pressed the sync buttons on the guitar and the wireless adaptor at the same time and let it sit. it started syncing fine after that. I hope i helped! :)

Are you trying to play a PS3 game on a PS2 ?

Question, are they wireless guitars or are they corded? If they are wireless, try switching the wireless cards on the playstation where the cord slot is. But use the same guitar with the different card. Thats how I was able to solve my same problem.

We had the same problem with Guitar Hero World Tour for PS2. We have an older fat PS2 that would play all of our other games but this one. I tried changing the settings to fast/smooth, changed the diagnostics, still didn't work. Finally, I took The PS2 apart, blew out the dust,cleaned the laser lens with a qtip and rubbing alcohol, dried it gently with a dry q-tip, and the game works!!

there is a swittch on the side of the reciever it might be off turn it on
