Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV
From your brief description I would say you have bad convergence IC's. I have no idea if you are capable of replacing them but I will give you an overview because if you have them replaced by a shop you will be better able to determine if they are being fair. With the back of the set off and the power disconnected you should see a large heat sink or maybe two on the main board. This is where the chips reside. To replace them you need to remove the board completely, turn it upside down and desolder the chips (about 40 connections on two chips) Remove them and reinstall the new units. Install the board and you are done. A reputable shop should be able to do this for $150 or less including parts. Let me know how you make out.
