Access point settings to activate java based applications in Nokia 3500c

Hello all ,
I got a new Nokia 3500 c and was really satisfied wid it for all the good spec .. What made me more happy was that it could use J2ME Application So i wanted to use my applications like Yahoo!Go, Opera browser, Catalogs,Berggi. But i was really disheartned when none of it worked..

I always get only one error message that "Subscribe to packed data" Though i have gprs workin and setting saved but still its not working...
Some of my friends using nokia said that there is need to set the GPRS settings manually but i'm new to nokia and have no ideas about ... kindly help me with this issue ..
As i wanna know how how to set the acess point manually...

    dude, nokia itself provides softwares like yahoo!go , catalogs inbuilt in 3500c which require internet access. Its not just abt yahoo im but also regarding all the apps that u can dwnld from the web. There must be some prob, newayz thanks for ur soln.

    well i am using nokia 3500c and using bpl gprs in mumbai (india) default browser works fine but opera mini, yahoo go!, instant messenger or any other java based inter application are not detecting the gprs and says "subscribe to packet data" or "check connection settings" please help me through this.

    yes the applications such as yahoo go,opera mini also doesn't work . the message shown is that please subscribe to packet data .

& then configuration settings
& then personal configuration settings
& press option
& then add new
& then access point,,,,,,,
no username & password.......
but if it is there username & password then just ask to customer care center
but u have to ask ur customer care center abt access pt name.....

Guys i figured out a solution to these problems here just go to this website http://www.dotsis.com/mobile_phone/showthread.php?p=812285 you have 2 download links in the below just download it and then unzip it tranfer those file to your phone it show promt u as new setting found just save it the go to settings>Configuration>Default config settings>select the new settings and activate default in all application and now jus check out apps like operamini it works fine but this works for airtel vodafone and many selected service providers if u want more information just send me a mail my mail address in [email protected] free to contact me

Wel its not cellpones fault in nokia3500c service provider needs 2 activate d settings n plz see tat in d settings u hav receivd chek tat whether in item supported web, yahoomidlet, r der or not if not ask 4 new settings.

den cal ur customer care n ask dem 2 activte ur gprs settings.

den also if prob persisit den do wat i did x-change ur sim wid one having nokia 60 series or 70 seris fone eg;nok6600,7610.
den ask 4 d new settings 4rm service provider follow as instructed in settings den cal customer care and ask dem 2 activate d settings,

Eerybody is lame here. Dude,altough you have a data plan activated it depends on the kind . Nokia s40 platform phones requires a more expensive data plan related to pc usage(by that i mean you need to activate a data plan wich allows you to use the phone as a modem with your pc. I usually reccomend a symbian phone because that phone makes no problems at different types of data plan)

Hello dost, i want to tell u that airtel gprs is working on operamini on my nokia 3500c so it should work on ur mobile . some help can i give u is that for manual settings u can go on web icon in menu.in it u can u can go to settings .in settings u can go to configuration settings & can sellect the gprs connection u want to bowse .than u can go to opera mini to browse on that gprs connection.if u have something to tell me about nokia 3500c pls tell me i m waiting for u

Go to Menu > Settings > Configuration Settings > Personal Configuration Settings
Add new 'Access point' and 'Web'

Now edit the Access point, choose its name (you can put any name)
Now fill the APN bsnlnet
No need to fill the proxy or port or username or password, the most important thing here is the APN

How to Activate internet settings for java applications in Nokia e72?
To activate internet settings for applications, you need to define an access point (or "Destination") in your E72. Here's how:

1) Open Menu by pressing home key.

2) Goto "Ctrl. Panel"

3) Select "Settings"

4) Select "Connection" tab.
5) Select "Destinations" option.
You will see different destination or access point types such as "Internet","Multimedia msg." and "WAP services" etc. Some java applications use standard Internet access points while some use WAP settings. To activate internet settings click on the "Internet" option. Then use your left soft key to open menu and select "New access point" to create internet profile for your applications. You can have multiple settings and order of the profiles define priority. (e.g. 1st profile in list will be used first and if not available, only then the 2nd will be used)

How to activate gprs on nokia 6300
here is a simple instruction for you to activate your nokia 6300 phone:

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Configuration
2. Choose Personal configuration settings
3. Press Options
4. Select Add new and Access point
5. Fill in a Account name
6. Select Access point settings
7. Set Data bearer to GPRS
8. Select Bearer settings
9. Enter GPRS access point (APN);check your settings.
10. Set Authentication type to Normal
11. Enter User name and Password if requested
12. Back * 3
13. Choose Options and Activate
14. Go Back
15. Set Preferred access point to the access point you just made.
16. Set Default configuration settings to Personal configuration.
17. Select Activate default in all applications and Yes

When trying to open opera mini application, during instalation i get a error message saying ''subscribe to packet data first''.How can i resolve this problem
Make sure
1. U have subscribed for GPRS service & it is active.
2. U r able to browse internet with your in built browser.
3. U have downloaded any or all of the applications & installed them on ur mobile.
Making New Access Point.
Go to Menu ---> Settings ----> Configuration ----> Personal Configuration & Select
With Option key select Add New ( If u don’t have any of previousely created access points u will be prompted to use central select key)
Select option Access Point & enter following settings
Account name java
Select sub option Access Point Settings & enter / select following settings
Data bearer Packet Data
Select sub sub option Bearer Settings & enter / select following settings
Packet Data Access Point ******* ( put address of your gprs service provider)
Network Type: ***
Authentication type Normal
User Name ***
Password ****** (changes with service provider)

Using back key come to personal Accounts level
U will see a new Access Point Named java
With option key & select ACTIVATE
Now U will be able to use all the above applications java Access Point

Operamini & Email not working on nokia 3110 classic
Do the following steps:
1.Menu->Settings->Configuration->Personal Configuration Settings.
2.Options->Add New("Add New" directly if the folder is empty)
3.Choose "Access Point"
4.Account Name: anything(say Java)
5.Access Point Settings->
6.Data Bearer: Packet data
7.
Bearer Settings: gprsnorth.cellone.in
Network type: IPv4
Authentication Type: Normal
User name: ppp
Password: ppp123
8. Save these settings.
9. Come back to Personal Configuration Settings,
10. You will see a new access point named Java.
11. Options->Activate.
12. Voila! You are done! Now you can browse through the internet on any java application.
