Question about Samsung Digimax 530 Digital Camera

1 Answer

When I first bought the camera five years ago. it would take 8 to 10 pictures before batteries needed changed. This kept decreasing over time to 8 pictures maximum, then six pictures, then four pictures. Now I only get 1, sometimes 2, and occasionally 3 pictures before a battery change. Is there an internal problem with the camera? Can it be fixed?

I have never used a memory card. I depend on the internal memory of the camers. I do not overload the camera with pictures before I dowload them to my computer and then dump the pictures in the camera.

This camera will store in excess of 150 pictures in internal camera memory.I know this to be a fact.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will definitely try a SD memory card.
When I bought thiis camera five years ago at Walmart for a price of $380.00, I did not think of it as being an inexpensive camera.
    Was I gypped on price?

Are you using a memory card or just the internal memory of the camera?

Well, your problem is directly related to your use of the internal memory. It is deteriorating over time. You should be using an SD memory card. You'll be able to store hundreds of pictures instead of 5 or 6. I can't believe you've gone all this time without fully taking advantage of the capabilities of a digital camera. I must mention that your camera is extremely inexpensive and at the bottom of the list of digital cameras. You might want to start thinking of upgrading to a better camera.

Yes...the camera never sold for that price. The internal memory is only 32mb. If you shoot 5 megapixel pictures, you will never get 150 pics....more like 10 when it was new.

I have a Casio Exilim EX-Z33 and i dropped it a while ago and it continued to work (kind of, the images were a bit blurry). i took a picture five minutes ago and then turned it off. the lens went in but...

Sounds like the focus motor came loose - you need to take it apart and repair the gear that drives the lens assembly for focusing. The noise you're hearing is the motor trying to focus but since the lens cannot focus it continues to run and signals an error.

Canon a570 battery fail - with any and all new batteries

Hmmm...... there might be a time battery that needs replacing. Look fore something like CR1220 or time battery. Pry it open and replace it with a battery of the same size.

CANON POWERSHOT S2 IS 5 MEGA PIXELS

I bought mine 2 1/2 yrs ago too. Found this solution on this site and tried it. It worked perfectly.
Turn to TV mode, set the exposure to 15 seconds by pushing the little "arrow dial" until you have 15"
Push the button to take the picture.
Wait 7 seconds from when you push the button, then turn over and open the battery door while it is "taking the picture."
Close the battery door and turn back on.
I did this three times and the last time, it worked and the iris became unstuck.
Then I took a million pictures to get the iris moving.
Good luck!

Low battery warning

It's something with the camera. I have the same camera and the same problem. I bought 2 brand new batteries, charged them, and the very first thing the camera did when I installed the new batteries was tell me that they were dead!! Grrr....

As a workaround, when it tells you the battery is dead, just open the battery door, close it, and try again. Repeat if necessary. With my camera, doing this lets me use the same battery for days and days. The battery is NOT dead - it's just a faulty warning message.

I have a JVC GR-DVL150 mini tape camcorder that I have only used about fifteen times sinc my wife bought it as a pressent about five years ago. Everything still works OK but the problem is, when you play...

Five year old..

the headsystem might need to be replaced atleast, maybe more.
Id suggest selling it as is, with the head problem. On ebay for example.

I dont know the actual value of the device but my guess would be around 50-150 maybe more who knows.

if theres anything else, let me know.

We had similiar problems with ours until we started making sure the camera was kept warm when it was shut off. For some reason, it and the batteries don't like the cold...we were able to extend the battery life if we kept it covered when we weren't using it.

I have the same problem with mine..seems to be a common problem. I called Nikon and they said to send the camera in and they would take a look and let me know the cost of repair. Unfortunately my one year warranty is up, if your's is not I suggest you take care of this ASAP.
