Sharp carouse ii microwave makes a stress noise and not heating

Your high voltage power diode has most likely failed. That or the magnetron itself has failed where as the oscillator is stuck. My bet is the power diode is what has failed.

(UNIT UNPLUGGED)
First off short out the capacitor AFTER removing the outer chassis with a screwdriver. Hold the screwdriver back on the handle and short across the 2 capacitor terminals. Locate the power diode that will be the wire that is metal. Remove it from the capacitor. Use a meter and read continuity of the diode. Reverse the test leads and read continuity again. In one polarity it is supposed to read like a wire (ZERO Ohms) and in reversed polarity it is supposed to read infinity. (Open) If you get open or short in both directions it has failed.
Diode PN is:

You can change this part and still have a problem with the magnetron... usually though a diode change brings them back to life.

One more thing to do is check the capacitor.... you probe the terminals with the meter on R x 10,000 and watch for a brief jump in resistance and then the meter drifts to infinity. Reversing the leads your looking for the same result each time you reverse the test leads. If you get this reading... the capacitor is probably good.

Microwave felt very warm on top. after cooling

That's often a sign of impending failure of the magnetron or a failed or failing internal cooling fan.

One should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking, and it's even more critical any time there is a problem or potential problem.

With the model number, we can offer more specific advice or an estimate.

But since FixYa does not notify us of follow-ups, you will need to post a new help request.

When i open the door it felt like a spring broke. i have to hold the door from slamming open now

That would be a broken door spring, and it's best to replace them in pairs.

On some models, this can be a difficult job.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Good luck.

Can anyone get a hold of the Jenn-Air Microwave M170W Button to open the door (Part# 56001009)Mine cracked and the part has been discontinued. Thank you.

Same thing happened to me. I couldn't find a replacement part, but I was able to make a fairly easy functional repair. If you take off the microwave cover, you can reach the back side of the control panel where the door release button is located. With a screwdriver or your finger, you press down on the top attachment tab (it's the swivel point that holds the button in place) with just enough pressure to remove the button. You'll have to do something similar to remove the other half of the broken button. If the two pieces of the button fit neatly together, then you can epoxy a piece of flat metal or rigid plastic to the back side of the button in order to join the two halves. Be sure to clamp the two halves of the button tightly together while the adhesive sets to get a tight fit and minimize the crack line. Let it cure, then replace in the microwave. It's not cosmetically perfect because there is still a hairline crack in the button, but it's not that visible and the button works well. I can't say yet how long this repair will hold up yet. I suppose that will depend on the quality of the bond you achieve when repairing the button. Good luck.

Changing the venting on my MH2175XSQ

yes FORCE...doct be afraid to break it 'cause you really can't. On mine after frustration I got agressive and found out the little black power wires were "holding it in the unit. A little prying pulling will get the motor unit up and out so you can "roll" it 90 degrees and reinstall screws and job is done.

LG microwave no longer heats!

It sounds as though you may have run the microwave while empty, which can damage the magnetron.

Not that I'm optimistic, but the first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Otherwise it likely needs a new magnetron.

Microwave door doesn't shut

I answered this personally via e-mail (and I do not mind peopke writing me personally). I think you may have a broken tab which holds the door latch head spring in place.
