no picture, only static for sound, stand by light keeps flashing

I have the same problem.

Disconnected the TV from the power source and left it off overnight. Plugged it in again and it worked for a couple of days. And then...The same problem - a black screen. It's quite inconvienient since I can't watch TV when I want to. What is the permanent fix? The Red LED flashes 6 or 7 times.

The blinking light is an error code. you need to count how many times it blinks, and check a service manual to see what the problem is, or ask a service person.
