Ipod Nano Video (short fat model) doesnt work with my CDE-9852

My wife's Ipod Video (full version) works fine with the cable connection, my Ipod nano only stays on "searching" and causes the Ipod to freeze up each time i connect the cable.

Got the same prob with my 9882Ri, with the cable that came with it.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it goes into "Searching" in the middle of a song, sometimes i get "Error-01"..

Tried updating iPod, as well as resetting.

Ipod touch

Hi,

Do you mean that your PD100 adapter doesn't recognize your new ipod touch?

If yes then i would suggest you to only use the adapter which has been given to you with the ipod touch.Do not use anyother one.If you don't have one it is better to buy another new adapter.

I have a CDE-9872 and it wont pick up my ipod touch

Add Alpine's optional "Full Speed" connection cable and you'll be able to use the CDE-9872 to control your iPod. -Crutchfields website

This is compatible with first and second generation iPods touch.
fyi- if you have a mini-stereo aux in jack on the deck you can connect a ipod touch compatible mini stereo cable to the earphone jack of your ipod.

IPod will not work.

restoring factory settings won't revert the player back to previous ipod software. Check with the alpine website product support and see which ipod software versions are compatible with the car deck you installed. I would think the latest version would be supported. then go to the apple website and download the most recent version of itunes that alpine says is compatible. connect your pod and open itunes. upgrade the pod to that itunes version and try it again with the car deck.
