Are you trying to run CD on new computer ?
You can do it manually without CD.
First let me know, are you trying to install the router OR you are trying to add a new computer to the existing network.
If you are trying to add a new computer to the existing network then you don't need to install the router on the computer, you just need to connect to the network.

How do I remove my WGR614 from my PC? R.Strehlow

This depends on what operating system you are using..

For Windows XP, go to control panel>Network> right click Wireless area network, Click properties.
a new window will open, select the middle tab, (wireless). You will see your wireless network there. Just select and delete it. :)

For Vista and 7.
Go to network and sharing center> select manage wireless networks. You will see your saved networks there.. Just select and delete..

Regards.

I can't get my Netgear router to work on my new laptop with Windows 7. I can't connect to the network. Netgear doesn't show up at all on my laptop.

Windows 7 has various changes from previous operating systems, you need to disable the built in firewall to establish contact.
You also need to go to the netwrok and sharing centre and choose to setup a network.

Trying to connect netgear wgr614v9 router to new toshiba computer with windows 7 ....setup says unsupported operating system....what do I do

As netgear setup disc doesnot support Win 7.
U need to manually setup the netgear product

-- hard resett the router using a restore factory setting hole on the back of the router
-- open the netgear router page using www.routerlogin.com
-- Username - admin , Password - password
-- run setup wizard
-- if it detects dynamic ip then press next
-- and on the left u will see wireless settings under setup .
-- secure the network using WPA_PSK(TKIP)
-- and then apply .

In case if it will detect static or fixed ip .
Then click on " Basic settings "
-- Under router MAC address
-- select "use computers MAC adress "
-- Apply
-- And then Powercycle the network..
-- And u will be able to go online ..

I have a laptop with windows 7 pro I'm trying to install a wireless g router netgear wgr614 with the cd. It is telling me that I need windows xp or 2000 to install. It wont let me install it with windows 7...

You really don't need to use the cd. Below is a link to the setup procedure:

You'll need to connect a PC with a cable to the router. Open browser and type in http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Input username as admin, the password is password. If you need more help, let me know. I'm leaving a link to the setup manual for your router below:
