Fisrt check all your cable connections:

power cord
-from PC ->AVR->Ower Outlet
-from Monitor -PC or Monitor->AVR->Power Outlet

other
-keyboard->PC
-Mouse->PC
-Monitor->PC

be xur to check the AVR if it is on...
then turn your PC on...

if it wont open...the you might have a loose connection inside your PC...like:

VideoCard
Memory or RAM

to start a few...

if you are familiar with them...you might wanna open up your PC(note: unplug your PC before opening it up...and ground your self by touching the case of your PC...

..then re-insert the video card..memory...and other add-on card inside your PC...close it up and connect all the cords and cable

if you are not sure what your doing pls. call a technician to this for you....

hope this helps...

Open your unit and gently push all your card back into their sockets. After a unit has been sitting for a long time and you move it, it may loosen the cards in the slots. While your in the unit, use a plastic nozzle and vaccum out the dust. May use a clean/dry paint brush to help clean. NO POWER during this cleaning. Also check with a slight tug any cable connections on the MB.

Good luck

HI.. I see someone else posted a solution when I didn't get the chance so please just verify all your cords are connected and that you do have power coming out of that particular outlet.. if after this you still find there is not powere then you may need to take it in depending on how old it is.. there may have been some short in the wiring somewhere or something became loose when it was moved.. please rate with the understanding that it is hard to see what was exactly done.. maybe it was unplugged before turning off first which could very likely short it out.. i hope this gets resolved.. how old is you computer and much memory does it run on?

I have a sony vios all in one desk top computer , it does not power on anymore. how would I fix this?

lookout for the power button, it maybe internally struck rather than you may not feel that, also lookout for the power cord and patches, take out cmos battery and reinsert/change if needed
clean up the motherboard and internal parts off the dust as needed by using vacuum cleaner air blowing

Why won't my COMPAQ PRESARIO SR2032X desk top

Please turn off the computer, start hitting F8 at the start-up and then choose last known good configuration. If this does not work, choose Safe mode options.
If still does not work, please try to restore the computer to factory settings. You can try to hit F11 or F10 at the startup to initiate recovery.
If not working, please tell me what error message you get on the screen.

I moved my home office desk a few days ago. I properly powered down my computer and unplugged everything. When I reconnected everything, the computer won't power up.

1 - Make sure you have power to the outlet you plugged the computer into. 2 - Make sure all of the cables plugged into the back of the computer are firmly seated / attached.
3 - Check that the switch on the back of the computer (usually quite near the power cord) is turned on.

Desk top computer won't turn back on

Try unplugging the power cord for 2 mins from the dead computer. Take out the plug from the computer. Your motherboard needs a reboot. let me know if that works.

Try a different display setting, for example, 1280 x 800 or 1024 x 768. Once you can see (computer) display, then move onto the best resolution which your display card support for your HDTV. Good luck..

(btw, if your dell has two vga sockets, get another vga cable. Then set your computer to a dual display mode, one for your computer and the other for HDTV. this way you will never lose your display.)

Flashing green light next to the power supply -_-

If the clicking sound is coming directly from the power supply, it could mean any number of things, including a faulty power supply.

If you can open the case cover, check inside for dust buildup. (Note: Make sure the computer is unplugged from the AC power source before doing this!) Try using canned air to blow dust buildup off any heat sinks and fan assemblies you see inside the computer, this includes the power supply as well. A good, general dusting of the backs of drives is also a good idea. Do not tilt or invert the canned air while you are using it, or propellant could be sprayed onto the components!

After cleaning out the PC, put the cover back on, plug the unit in and see if there's any improvement. If not, without testing individual components it would be difficult to troubleshoot your problem. A trained service technician's physical assessment would be a solid next step.

Open the side of your computer. The card that your monitor plugs into may have come loose. Carefully pull it from the slot (you may need to unscrew it first or remove a bracket that keeps it stable; plus there may be a lever at the back of the card you may need to pull on) and then plug it back in again. It is not uncommon for this card (called the video or graphics card) to come loose when being moved around.
