Question about Kenwood Protalk XLS TK-3130 (2 Channels) 2-Way Radio
Veg Sha | Jan 13, 2016
Constant short bursts indicate the VCO is not locking in. This is under the copper RF shield on the lower UHF board. Open it up and take a look, you won't break it any more than these expert answers would have you believe. I found mine had loosened in one corner and when tightened up and reassembled the radio functioned normally.

If unit Keeps doing BEEP-BEEP-BEEP and not a continuous tone, This mean a Cracked PCB or Cracked CPU (Yes it happens!). In both case, it can not be fixed. Its a Multi-layer PCB.
You need a new PCB. Getting it repaired in a shop is ~50% of a new unit.
If you manage to get parts from a distributor (Not kenwood directly), you may get a new PCB for ~65$
