Constant short bursts indicate the VCO is not locking in. This is under the copper RF shield on the lower UHF board. Open it up and take a look, you won't break it any more than these expert answers would have you believe. I found mine had loosened in one corner and when tightened up and reassembled the radio functioned normally.

He's right.

If unit Keeps doing BEEP-BEEP-BEEP and not a continuous tone, This mean a Cracked PCB or Cracked CPU (Yes it happens!). In both case, it can not be fixed. Its a Multi-layer PCB.

You need a new PCB. Getting it repaired in a shop is ~50% of a new unit.
If you manage to get parts from a distributor (Not kenwood directly), you may get a new PCB for ~65$

What wiring is it to wire Adonis 508 to midland 8001

good question

best answer is

to look what youve got

you will have 5 wires on the adonis

wire the black wire and the copper screen together

then use a multimeter on ohms or beep test
place the black neg wire of the meter on the screen
and test the orange or other than white or yellow{they will be audio from the mic to the rig}

the orange or other like green will be tx enable
and if you press in the TX button and with the back and screen connected to the beep test on the meter
place the red wire on the meter
on each of the other cables like orange etc
you hear it beep
let go the TX button
if it stops and start beeping as you press and let go the TX bar

then this is the TX enable to the radio

so all you need really do is look up the radio type and its plug wireup

midland is 1234 ground /audio /TX enable/ output audio enable

most often uniden and cybernet chassis used different wireup
but had conformance to type
so uniden shared a comon wireing as did cybernet types as midland is

My Midland walkie talkie quits transmitting about 3 seconds after I start transmitting

It is more likely a power issue. PTT switches do not normally cause a short circuit. Check the batteries, swap the batteries and see if that helps. Radios take a great deal more power to transmit than turn on or receive. If not the battery, try a low voltage battery, such as a cordless phone battery. If it still occurs, check your warrany and send it back to the factory.

Baofeng Uv-5r beeps on tx

Hi Nick,

Your two way is giving you a roger beep, when you release the PTT, is that correct?

If so, your manual if you have one, and if you can decipher CHINGLISH, will tell you how to stop the ROGER BEEP.

Because these nasty little units are mass produced in China, their English translation of the user manual is harder to work with than the nasty little radios they are printed for.

Unless you have a mate who can translate Chinese to PROPER english for you, then you are in the same boat as the many other silly sausages that bought these crappy things.

They are cheap & nasty radios, like anything else made in China, that's not to say the Chinese people a bad, just the companies that produce this rubbish in great quantities for gullable folks to buy & cry.

Sorry, but I too got sucked in buying Chinese radios, Never again.

I hope you find someone to translate that Chinglish manual for you.

Sincere Best wishes,
Peter

My Midland WR120 just started beeping today and I can't figure out why by looking at the Owner's Manual. It beeps every five to ten minutes, one beep. No alarm is set, I have it set to notify me...

According to Midland's support staff, this happens if the radio goes for 10 days without a weekly test signal from NOAA. To stop the beeping, simply turn off the power switch on the right side of the radio for a few seconds (if yours has it), or unplug the radio and remove one battery, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in and reinstall the battery you removed. You won't lose your settings if you have to unplug it and remove a battery, but you will have to reset the clock.

I removed my Roger Beep from my Eagle Sidewinder 400, It still receives but will not transmit. What do I have to connect back up for it to start transmitting again? I'd be Thanking you for any help.....

If the radio is not going into TX, then you have not connected the TX line back up,

If there is no audio when you TX you have left the audio wire off.

The radio usually needs 4 wires.
TX (Puts radio into TX)
Audio (this carries the audio from the mic into the modulator)
Screen (ground cable (earth))
RX (not as common these days)

HOW DO I INSTALL ROGER BEEP ON A GALAXY 33 CB RADIO

Does the roger beep come with instructions? It can vary between beep boards.

Typically it gets installed inline with the mic jack.

There is a wire or pin on the board where the tx wire, and the rx wires go.These wires get disconnected from the mic jack, then a wire goes to the tx pin. Then there is an audio wire that gets connected to the audio wire of the mic jack. Then the black wire to ground, and the red wire to switched 12v right off the power switch.

Here is a schematic of the board connected to the mic jack so you know what pin is what.

Again, I would need to know what roger beep board you would like to install.

My transceiver yaesu ft-one can't received/monitor and transmit

I understand that You have a problem with the TX/RX. The problem with your radio is one that can't be solved with out actually looking at the radio on the bench. The only thing I can tell you is to either go to your local radio shop or send the unit to the factory to be serviced. One thought that does come to mind though is that your battery may not be working most rechargable batteries are only good for about 18 months. There may not be enough charge to operate the radio.
