How do I replace the light in my Panasonic nn797s?

Remove the case and replace the lamp located between the magnetron tube and the control panel. If I remember correctly there is one phillip screw holding the base to the oven.

Panasonic NN-A755

It does sound like the magnetron is failing, when it shuts down it is because the thermal fuse is detecting to much heat from the magnetron and shutting it down, I might add this part is the heart of the system, rough cost would be in the area of $100.00 maybe cheaper. Intallation of this part is very tricky and there is the danger of high voltage, I recommend a pro for safety and correct installation.

My panasonic microwae stops after 28sec and would'nt work

Is it maybe 22 seconds?

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

You can find an authorized Panasonic servicer here.

Broken Microwaive Door

I'm assuming your correct model number is KCMS145JSS? You have a broken "release lever", part number AP3033332. It's reference number 7 on the exploded view diagram found here: You can order it by part number from Appliance Parts Pros here: If needed, you can download the owner's manual and installation guide here: If you need further help, please follow up. I appreciate your rating of this answer.

Microwave Problems

Thats exactly why so so many repair shops have closed their doors mOH NO not because of you!!!lol its because of items are made to last a year or so and they are so inexpernsive theythrow them away and simply buys a new one cause for 100 bucks who can blame ya. your problem should be looked at by a pro unless you know how to deal with electricity and charged capacitors. it will run between 15 to 45 to check out the unit and probably cost about 50 to 100 bucks if not more to fix see my point? Buy A new one. Good Luck .
