SOURCE: no heat-gas dryer--Amana

There is a flame sensor on the side of the flame housing. Jump the 2 wires out and see if the ignitor glows then. If so you need a flame sensor.

SOURCE: dryer heating problem

It sounds like an air flow issue. There is a flame sensor on the side of the flame housing. If the venting is not sucking the flame down the tube it will cycle very quickly and never reach the right temp.

SOURCE: I have an Amana gas(LP) dryer DLG330RAW that doesn't heat

Replace the two small round black solenoids located on the gas valvle. I just did it last week. They come in a set and only cost me $26.50. Easiest fix I've done. I was all set to go out and buy a new dryer.

Dryer keeps tripping tstat or hi limit and cleaned all vent out

Could be a lint blockage and or a venting problem. Remove the connecting vent and clear any blockage found. The vent should be as short and straight as possible. No kinks.
Try a cycle with the vent OFF the dryer. Make sure there is plenty of fresh air circulation in the room.
If it dries OK the venting is the problem.
If it continues to short cycle you will have to replace the gas valve coils on top of the gas valve. They will be overheating and closing because they are weak.

The dryer ignites but the gas valve does'nt light

Check that the gas sensor is clear or any lint/dust/crud, etc. as that could be preventing the gas valve from opening up and allowing ignition. Typically all gas dryers have a safety feature that won't allow operation if the exhaust vent pipe has excessive lint and dust in it, as that is a fire hazard.

Look in your owner's manual to see the procedures for accessing the vent exhaust and follow your specific instructions. Usally there is an access panel/door at the bottom front of the dryer that will allow you to get inside the vent, etc. Inside that is a surface mounted sensor that does a couple of things; checks for proper air (venting) flow; no excessive dust/lint buildup; and that the ignitor coil has been "lit", etc.

If any of these doesn't occur, the gas valve will not open. Follow the monthly cleaning procedure/check to make certain that the dryer is safe to use and operate.

If all the above are OK, then it is likely that the sensor has failed and needs to be replaced. You can look at the searspartsdirect.com to find your particular model using their parts diagrams and illustrations of your dryer, etc.

Glad to assist!

Gas dryer Model MDG9316AWW does not always ignite

First check the exhaust vent to the outside do you have a strong flow of air?
Is the lint passage free of lint? Are the blower vanes clear of lint?

A simple test for the sensors, bypassing the wires to the thermosensor and operating the dryer to test. If the heat now stays on the sensor is usually bad. Also if the flame backs up the safety thermo can kick out to protect against fires. Usually due to plugged lint somewhere.
