How to open wifi

Opening the WiFi depends on the brand or make of your laptop.

Mostly, you will have a switch for the laptop to turn on the WiFi radio. Try locating the switch for your WiFi. Usually, it is the one with a small antenna symbol printed near a small LED light. If the light is on, it means the WiFi radio is on.

I would suggest providing us more information about your laptop so that we can assist you further.

Can't connect to wifi.

make sure your wifi card is enabled/turned on. If yuor laptop has a wifi switch, set it to On position, Then make sure you are within the wireless range. Try moving closer to the router and make sure the correct wireless profile is configured and set up on your laptop with the correct passkey/password.

Verify as well that your OS detects your wifi card correctly. An update to the wifi driver may also help.

I've a Compaq Pressario 6000 laptop with Windows XP Home edition. I've 2 problems: 1. Sometimes I cannot turn on my laptop. When I press the power button, the LED lights turn on but it does not start-up...

The First Problem is a Hardware fault there can be two thing which are the cause first battry and other is the charging socket of the laptop. Now you can see that you can check by changing battry and if does not works then it would require repairing of charging sockect . Claming waranty is the better option if you still have.

For the second problem all you have to do is to update the driver of your Wifi device in laptop..... hopefully your problem will be solved....

I do not know how to turn on the wifi

Hi,

Please read the below article for detailed steps on fixing your wireless problems:

On the right-hand side near the cd rom drive, there is a switch that moves back and forth. move it towards the back of the computer. that should turn on your wireless capabilities. A wi-fi manager screen should pop and and you should be good to go.

How do I turn on the WiFi adapter for my Acer Aspire 5516?

The wireless networking feature on the notebook can be enabled by moving the switch that is located on the front of the notebook to the right. Once the switch has been moved the wireless networking icon will appear on the screen indicating that it has been enabled.
The switch will reset back to its original position once it has been moved, this does not indicate that the wireless has been turned off.
