If the DVD is using Component cables (red, green, blue) you need to hook to the component input on the back of the set---AV 1 is Composit--- yellow, white, red.

Component requires red, green, blue for picture and separate red and white for audio.

    Understand the difference?

the color of the cables does not matter as long as they are connected to correct places at dvd and TV.

On the back of the DVD which jacks are you hooked to? yellow, red and white?

On the DVD you are going from the yellow, red, and white to the same colored jacks on the set.

What you may have is the DVD player may have either a slide switch on the back or something in the menu that selects which set of jacks on the back of it are sending the signal out.

Try hooking from the red, green, and blue on the back of the DVD to the red, green, and blue on the TV input that is for either a DVD or HD input. Color of cables does not matter as long as both are connected to same color at each end.

plug in and tighten the connections on the back of the DVD player, the television and any amplifier, if there's no picture or sound. Plug the DVD player's outputs into the amplifier's inputs. Then plug the amplifier's outputs into the television's inputs. Sometimes the amplifier is called a receiver.

Have a toshiba tp 61H95 proj TV- want to connect panasonic dvd recorder and toshiba vhs recorder so I can copy family videos to dvd- can't get hook ups set up for both to work.

Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback.
Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder.
Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed.
Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV.
Hope this info will help you.

Cant get color picture when playing DVD's

I too had the same problem. On the Vzio there are AV plug ins on the left side (not the back, but the left side). Use these jacks when connecting to the DVD player and choose the AV button on the TV remote. Viola!

Goodmans Tv wont show dvds

Usually with DVD players, picture & no sound, or sound & no picture is caused by the scart lead not being plugged in properly.

Sound pins are at one end of the connector and audio pins at the other.

If you are using scart make sure that the plugs at both ends are pushed in all the way. The plastic part of the plug should just touch the socket.

If you are using S-Video (Round connector with 4 pins) you also need to connect a twin phono-phono (Red & Black or White) lead to carry the audio, as S-Video only carries video.

Samsung TXJ2754 (27") DVD issues (Sound but no Picture)

Assuming you have picture on the TV when hooked up to cable, antenna or satellite I would take the DVD player to a friends house to see if it worked on their set (using your cables of course). If you can't get a picture on your TV no matter what, then it could be either the Jungle IC or EEPROM IC inside the set. Since it displays "No Video Signal" on the screen, that leaves out the High Voltage section of the TV. My main suspicion would be the video cable or settings on the DVD or TV.
