Hi,
Do other things work fine but not the dvd player? Are you going straight from the dvd player into the tv? What type of cable are you using?
Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thank you,
Lee

Ok and What type of cable are you using?Have you tried a different cable a different input, a different tv. This will help you isolate where the problem is.

I have a 5 year old KLH DVD player. I had it hooked up through AV cable to a 6 year old SONY Trinitron 37" TV & it worked fine. I am now trying to hook it up to a new Westinghouse flat screen TV...

double check the wires are in the correct connections on both the tv and dvd player also the KHL dvd player may need to be put in progressive scan. Usually the red wire for video and the one for audio get plugged into the wrong input and causes this issue

Dvd player not working with sound

Ok, first thing is to know how it's hooked up. If you used RCA cables, the yellow plug is video, the red and white are audio. Make sure all your connections are "out" on the dvd and "in" on the receiver. If all this is correct, there may e an issue on the audio settings for your unit.

Cant get color picture when playing DVD's

I too had the same problem. On the Vzio there are AV plug ins on the left side (not the back, but the left side). Use these jacks when connecting to the DVD player and choose the AV button on the TV remote. Viola!

Connect Philips DVD to Sansung TV

the red and black are the same as the red and white, these are the audio left and right channels. the yellow plug is the video plug. the next thing you have to check is wheather your tv has video 1 and 2 channels

42 inch proscan lcd

If you use the connections for DVD you must use all of them.If you are using the standard yellow, white, and red connectors connect them to the connections listed as video and not the DVD titled connectors. But my advise is get an up converting DVD player and use a HDMI cable to get the best picture with out having to brake the bank buying a Blue Ray. I once connected a DVD player to my TV in the same fashion before finding out it only gives you a purplish black and white picture. Up converting DVD players can be bought around 30 dollars and up. A 6 ft HDMI cable will cost around 15 dollars. This way you will be getting the full effect and great picture your TV can produce.

DVD player only plays DVD in black and white - what's wrong?

Ok,
I'm not sure what you mean by digibox. Under what conditions are you able to see things in color? Is a digibox a seperate device you can get to work with the same connection as your player? If one device displays color on the same connection and another doesn't then that seems to rule out the television being the problem. Can you clarify a little more?

Vcr only plays in black and white

Hi Ryana,

Check if the recorder is set to output in 'S-Video' or 'SuperVideo' mode, if your TV doesn't understand S-Video you'll get a grainy B&W picture. The VCR should be set to output in PAL for the UK and most of Europe.

Hope this helps

DVD picture is black and white

Sounds like you are either trying to play an NTSC (US or Asian) DVD on a PAL (European) TV.

Go into the DVD settings and look for picture, video or display options.

If the DVD is set to NTSC, then set to PAL.
