Question about Canon PIXMA iP4200 InkJet Photo Printer
It printed part of a page and then turned itself off and won't turn on again. I have tried all the usual/obvious things and nothing helps. I had recently installed a new ink cartridge (a genuine Canon one).
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Who ever told you that you cannot take out an ink cartridge and put it back is an idiot to say the least, I bet its your "ink man". Of couse you can take out your ink cartridge and put it back. Mind you the head of the cartridge might be faulty, take it back to the person who sold it to you and get it replaced. If it is a genuine cartrige Canon will replace it for him.

Tips for a great answer:
Confirm there is no orange tape across the top of the ink tank
If the orange tape is as shown in Figure (A), it is properly removed.
If the orange tape is as shown in Figure (B), remove the remaining tape to the level shown in Figure (A).
Make sure each ink tank is snapped into the printer.
