My unit is a Honeywell and not a Muirfield.97-4118/5-89 and it will not work on auto but works on manual.

If it's a new thermostat that you have recently installed, check your installer configuration. Make sure the tstat is set up for gas or electric heat, depending on what you have. Some t-stats also have a small switch on the back to switch from gas to elec. A gas furnace has components to control the fan, electric unit uses the tstat to control the fan. Hope this helps!

Eurolec oven will ignite but not remain on

Hi,

Depending on the exact model number and features of your Eurolec oven, this could indicate a number of things:
  • no supply of gas (for gas model), or the electrical power is not reaching the heating elements;
  • the heating elements are defective;
  • the controlling system/mechanism is faulty;
  • there is an "unknown" fault internally and the system is not allowing any further action to prevent untoward incidents or aggravate the condition;
  • if it is completely electric powered, try to see if there is a reset button at the back/rear of the unit.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back on the exact model number, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Turned down temp on Water Heater a little, and now we are not getting any hot water. Not even Warm. Whats wrong?

For electric tank: Push in the reset button located on upper thermostat.

For gas tank, then more specific information might be needed for example if unit has power vent, when was the air intake cleaned, is the pilot lit, what brand and model number etc etc..

For tankless, or solar, or hybrid electric, gas boiler, or indirect, or RV heater, etc then please include brand, and model that appears on label on side of unit.

No heat. Elec. power OK. 12 years old

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

No heat

Your problem is more than likely one of the following:

* heat source: elec. heat element, gas coils, gas igniter or radiant sensor (depending on elec. or gas model)
* thermostat
* timer

2005 dometric rm 2852 wont cool

I suggest the main control board is faulty because of the spike. The voltage would have damaged some of the control circuit - even though the fuses did not blow. Sounds like a memory fault on a control chip.

Atwwod 10 gal gas/elec water heater won't work on elec.

THE LIGHTED SWITCH SHOULD BE THE 12V ENERGY SOURCE TO ACTIVATE THE LP SIDE OF THE HEATER. THERE SHOULDN'T BE A LIGHTED SWITCH FOR THE 110 SIDE. THERE SHOULD BE A SWITCH OR A COMBINATION OF SWITCHES. ONE ON THE WALL LIKE A LIGHT SWITCH AND ONE MOUNTED BEHIND THE HEATER.

Dometic rv fridge runs fine on elec, lights on gas but in one min shuts down. Dometic RV S1621 fridge runs fine with elec, when start gas operation. The burner runs for about 30 seconds then shuts off....

It is key that all control switches are in the correct position, depending on what power source you are using, gas, electric, etc. If the switches are not in the proper setting, the unit will not operate.

Here's the manual for your fridge that should be printed out for your use and reference (and reading enjoyment). It has all the info needed to operate and troubleshoot it.

Typically, when using any gas appliance with a pilot light, the sensor has to first be hot enough to trigger it to allow the safety gas shutoff to open and allow the gas to flow to the pilot/burner. Follow the instructions and you should be all set.
