Briggs and Straton 8 hp, craftsman snowblower stalls

B&S 8 hp, craftsman snowblower , family 5b5xs.2051f. We dained all gas, put in new , started , runs for 10 minutes, stalls, removed plastic fuel line tube, gas flows, replace. Start, runs for 10-15 minutes than stalls. Any ideas ?

Sounds like you coil is over heating after running a few minutes. The windings are seperating, then when it sools they make contact again. Try replacing the coil.

Craftsman Snowblower Won't Start


If you did not put gas stabilizer in your fuel tank when you stored your machine the gas will turn into varnish. Try draining the gas and put new gas and try to start it. Good luck

I am troubleshooting a 19.5 HP turbo platinum i/c briggs and stratton, craftsman snowblower and it will not start oe even fire.


sometimes when are stored for long time ...things need to be done
1' emty gas
2' put new gas
3 new spark
4. in most important clean old gas from carbutetor can it should have a plug to drain at the bottom of carbutetor
aftert done all this try it again

Surging is usually caused by a lean condition You can try to turn the mixture screw ccw about 1/4 to 1/2 turn. If this does not solve the problem your carb will have to be removed, cleaned thoroughly, and reinstalled.

I charged the battery and there's gas in my lawn


Usually there is a combination choke on the throttle, when you put the throttle all the way up it sets the choke and once the engine fires you idle it downa little to full throttle.
