The battery is run down too low. When the light came on, alternator stopped working- the vehicle ran off the battery, until the lights and other electricals ran the battery down too low. Recharge the battery, and have the alternator tested. It will probably need replacing. If you bring it into a parts store, they will test it for free.
connect the garmin to your computer using the usb port. It will start charging then. For some reason when the battery goes dead in this unit the only way to charge it is with computer. the car adaptor will not work once the battery gets real low.
I just find it unbelievable that there is no off button on this watch.
I dont want to use it as an everyday watch..its too big and ugly for that. Also you have to remember to turn off the gps as it will drain the watch overnight. You have to switch the gps on every time you do a run. I simple on and off button is all that is needed. It is just a matter of turning it on when you go for a run and you are ready to go.
Same with all 'latest ' products..they give you the improvement over the last model but give you a downside...which will probably be corrected on the next incarnation....very clever marketing.!
Ummmmm "Low battery"....... not too hard to figure out. You need to charge it for several hours. If the battery is low it WILL go out on you and during that time, the battery may recover enough to come on briefly then go off again. Please charge your battery!
I had the same problem. I went onto Garmin.com and attached the Nuvi to the computer using a cord that I had for my blackberry phone. Once connected, I turned on the Nuvi and ran the update tool. The update tool will reinstall the voices. This seemed to work the first time. I have had to do this twice now since I received the Nuvi 205 on December 26, 2008 (it's February 13, 2009)
