Hubag, you need to check your bios. At boot up, press the delete key every 2 seconds & your bios will load. Make sure your SATA drive, (s) are listed example: {if your SATA drive is a Seagate the bios will show it as: ST3250823AS}. You should unplug any IDE hard drives connected to the system while installing Win XP. The Southbridge integrates a Serial ATA host controller that is SATA v1.0 compliant, supporting Ultra DMA 150 (SiS964 only). If you do not have your manual you can download it here at:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=392&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=9
661FX-M(V1.0B)
Once the bios is set & see's your SATA drive so will windows.
If you can not set your bios to list your SATA drive windows will never install on your SATA drive. You can also use the above link & down load drivers, including a RAID driver.

Can't install windows on FSB 800 motherboard its showing no hard disk installed in your computer but showing in the bios kindly help

If you are installing XP on a SATA hard drive then -

The problem is that XP installation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on a disk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then, XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP. The FIX. Go into the BIOS and disable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is a IDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows has been installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver), then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

Install xp in compaq presario c700

The hard disk may be set to Enhanced AHCI SATA mode. Look for Legacy or IDE mode setting in BIOS menu options.
XP SP2 does not recognise Enhanced SATA mode hard disks.
see http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/10/23/windows-xp-setup-could-not-detect-and-find-any-sata-hard-disk-drive-on-ahci-mode/
You may be able to use NLite to make a CD which has correct SATA drivers.

Installatin problem xp

do you still have the other hard disk? Is xp installed there?
Then you can use the old disk as master and the new disk as slave disk.
Don't you have another hard drive? Then you just need your xp cd and put it in your cd drive. start computer and installation will automatically start. Make sure BIOS is set to boot from cd
