My front loader is driving me nuts. everytime I do a wash there is a gungy buildup left on my clothes and they smell terrible. I have had this problem since i bought the machine from brand new. I have been advised in the past to do a empty wash with a cup of baking soda in it but this doesnt help.

Front loaders are known for building up mold and the smell. It’s caused by using liquid detergent which is made from animal fat. Use powder. And use the minimum amount. It’s caused by using fabric softener. Dilute it 50/50 with water. It’s caused by the water remaining in the tub between washes. Leave the door open to allow it to dry. . Pull the rubber door seal back and clean the mold off . Affresh is recommended by some manufacturers. You run it through a wash cycle with it.

Water left in bottom of washing machine should not be more than a tablespoon or so. Have you tried washing a full cycle with EMPTY washer, 1 gallon of clear distilled vinegar and 1 pound box of baking soda...the plain one on the grocery shelf. You got some drain tube that seems to be harboring this smell, which feeds back to your clean clothes. Empty the washer immediately upon washing being done. Always leave your lids or doors open. You may have to change out the tubing/drains from INFLOW and OUTFLOW. This is all under the assumption you have a front loader. I don't believe this would exist with regular top loader as gravity pulls all to the drains.
If,like most people,you are washing at 30-40c there may be a scum build up between the drums.This can be cured by doing several 90c washes to clean it out.Bosch themselves call this a maintenance wash.

not really front loaders have top loaders beat all the way but stay away from admiral and maytag .a front loader will wash your clothes using the soap that your top load failed to get out if i may suggest buy a frigidaire with a mechanical timer not electronic control more junk on them more to fail the best combo in my mind is a frigidaire front loader and whirlpool dryer front loaders use 2/3 less water 2/3 less soap and will get your clothes twice as clean they have no transmissions and are direct drive the most common promblems with them is having to clean out the pumps where people leave stuff in their pockets also you need to buy soap thats for front loaders its called high effincey or he soap and they will get your clothes make sure you read the installation guide and remove ALL the shipping braces
