Question about Kitchen Ranges

Kenmore C880 6587590 burner switch replacement.

I need to replace a couple of burner switches on my electric range but can't get access to the back of the switches. There is no obvious back panel to remove and it doesn't look like I can get access from the front. It appears that my best option is to remove both plastic side panels. But how do I do that? Alternatively, where can I get a repair manual for this stove?

I just replaced the switch just yesterday.First remove the glass panel by pushing back the 2 black clips at the top end, then remove 2 silver screws at the top and 3 at the bottom also remove 2 black screws behind side panels on the top. Now push side panels slightly up and forward and it fill fall forward and now replace the switch.

Kenmore 79096011407 ceramic cook top. When front left burner is turned on, it goes to high and does not turn off. Had to use main breaker panel to turn off electric to the range. Can not find parts list...

Sounds like the switch for that burner needs to be replaced. Its possible that something else may be shorting out but usually its just the switch. Your ranges burners and switches are standard switches and burners for this type of range so the switch should fix it. Hope that helps.

Hiya:) I have a kenmore electric stove model #362.922123Q1 w/a bad burner in it and i have replaced the burner and the receptacle to no avail:( can someone tell me the next step in the diagnostic...

Having replace those two parts the switch is bad,if you have a multimeter you can check the switch by setting the meter to the ohms setting and TURN OFF BREAKER TO THE STOVE OR UNPLUG access the switch by removing the back panel and set the switch to the HIGH setting ,then remove the wire off marked H1 and L1 and check for contuninty by placing the meter leads on those two terminals, then reinstall the wires on those and remove the wires off of L2 andH2 and check for contuninty there, if no contuninty on L1 to H1, or L2 to H2 then the switch is defective
the part# for the switch for the large burner is WB24T10027
the part # for the switch for the small small burner is WB24T10022

The two large electric burner is not working.I switched the burners and they work on the small burner.

This receptacle block get burnt up. Replace them.
THIS will work on any brand stove. If the receptacles are fine then the switches must be bad. Here is how they all work:

Electric range surface light stays on

When the burner went, it took out the switch that controls it. The contacts inside the switch have welded together. That switch needs to be replaced. You should also look at the receptacle that the burner plus into. That may have been the original cause of all the problems. The contacts in them often wear causing the burner to src inside the receptacle. These parts should be readily available from Sears: burner control (infinie) switch, Burner receptacle.
