Question about Epson Stylus R265 InkJet Photo Printer
I have an Epson Stylus R265 printer. It is telling me all the inks need changing, which isn't true as yesterday they were fine. I've tried changing them with the inks from my second identical printer, and it still has the 6 X's saying they all need changing. Any ideas??
Epson changed the version of R265 using a different chip so if you have the earlier version you need a different compatable to the other version
It could be that you have a faulty cartridge I have had two or three of them myself. Try fitting the cartridge a few times this may just
do the trick or try a new one

I have just encountered this problem having replaced a Magenta cartridge with my usual trusted compatible.
I ran status monitor which reported a communication error. I repeatedly turned the printer off and on and ran status monitor until the communication error cleared. Then the Magenta cartridge charged and all was well.
It might just work for you.

Try new carts from inkexpress.co.uk with resttable chips (as used in ciss systems) Had no trouble in two yrs . Just had two lights flashing myself,(worried sick) then i checked on black ink(empty) (the chip in the black is the controller) needed to fill with ink from above supplier. Job done working perfick. Tip leave cart in printer, take out rubber bung and refill CAREFULLY insitue .You can see ink come to the top then STOP. Replace bung. Job done. If you take out the carts and refill sometimes the contacts do not always match up, thats why i leave them in printer. But it does need a carefull hand but i am sure you can do that.

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.
In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.
These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.
I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.
That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.
So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......
I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .
This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.
Thanks and Good Luck :0)
